I have a strange problem and I can't really figure out what the missing piece is.
After installing the lastest Chimera I gave my HD4000 GFX a go. I was previously using a Radeon HD 5770.
As far as I can tell, OS X 10.7.4 recognises the IGFX and loads the following kexts...
ok my impression was that BridgeHelper was made to upgrade the kernel just before upgrading an already set up system to Ivy...
well in any case it worked well for me...;)
I tried to use Unibeast for OSX 10.7.4 on ivy bridge (i7-3770k on GA-Z77MX-D3H) and got stuck in a reboot loop just before the installation app starts.
I fixed this by replacing the unibeast mach_kernel with the kernel provided in the 2012 MBP update.
I had to copy that kernel again into the...
Yes the single slot XFX 5770 worked perfectly with Chimera 1.4 and the iMac 2011 Sandy Bridge drivers.
Primary DVI works, I haven't plugged a screen on the secondary DVi and MiniDisplay port but they both are recognised in System Profiler.
BUT:
- Power drain and (nearly inaudible) noise level...
No luck on integrated gfx so far. Honestly I have given up and stopped trying a while ago, but today I will recieve a single-slot XFX 5770. If it works, it will cut down the machines power drain. I'll post result later today.
There is NO NEED to reinstall the whole system from scratch.
If your system boots nicely and is running stable, you just have to download the Chimera Installer from the downloads section of this site together with BridgeHelper.
First, backup your custom kernel by renaming it or copy it...
NEWSFLASH
- Chimera 1.4 Working
- Vanilla Kernel 10.7.3 installed with BridgeHelper Working
- FSB and busratio need no kernel flags anymore.
- CPU now poperly recognised as Core i7
Does that mean there will be no need to specify fsb and busratio in the future? The step over to the vanilla kernel would defintely be the final one to reach perfection 8-)
Onboard Hardware Report for Intel DH67GD motherboard
LAN: Works very well with AppleIntelE1000e.kext (http://code.google.com/p/intel-e1000e-kext/). A packed binary is easy to find in the wild.
PCI/PCIe: All slots work, I had one device on each slot. Everything is recognised.

Re: SUCCESS: Intel DH67GD mATX with non-K i7 2600 and HD 5850
Here are the necessary steps:
Connect your monitor to the integrated gfx port (DVI tested, it works) and leave the PCI-E graphics card out of your system for now.
Start and set your BIOS [enter BIOS by pressing F2] to check for...
I've managed to successfully install and boot 10.6.7 on this system.
used modified kernel from here: http://tuxie.wordpress.com/2011/04/15/stable-hackintosh-with-h67-chipset/
It's 64-bit, 8 GB RAM and full 3,4 GHz with turbo boost enabled.
More details will follow soon.
system has restarted successfully after install.
feels very quick even in comparaison to the q9650 i used before
LAN and firewire work out of the box, that's nice.
I got the hardware today. after some unsuccessful attempts with iBoot i switched to iboot legacy. the system is installing right now. i'm using the integrated gfx, so far standard vesa resolution over DVI.
more in about 30 mintues
system:
Intel mobo DH67GD mATX
i7 2600
8 GB kingston hyperx...
well i will give it a try anyway, i have a flawless working 5850 as a fallback option.
I've looked at the sabertooth but it has way too many features i will never need. Also it's much too expensive. I'm neither a gamer nor an overclocker. I need a muscular mac for sound production.
I'll report...
has anyone got some experience with OS X on the intel DH67GD mobo? I find it tempting because it's one of the few featuring firewire onboard. And it's cheap.
Another question: does HD3000 graphics (from the i7 2600 for example) support QE/CI?
Thanks for your expertise, keep up the good work.
