IDK if it will work but you could try the SwitchResX app to see if it offers a 120Hz refresh when using iGPU.
If not, then buy a graphics card to get 120.
Use your onboard DP output, not HDMI as that will only give you 60hz at best.
The MSI site doesn't say it's DP 1.4 but I would assume that it is since it's a 10th gen board.
also make sure you're running Ventura or newer macOS as that seems to make a difference.
All of these CPUs are fully supported by Sonoma, no OCLP needed to make them work.
Here's one example of how low cost some of these 6 core i5-8500 refurbs are. Look at HP 600/800 G4 models.
A Dell Optiplex model desktop (i5-8500) will also work with minimal problems. 5060 or 7060 are the...
Rather than trying to make Sonoma or Ventura "work" on un-supported hardware with OCLP it would make more sense to spend a small amount of money on a newer system with UHD630 graphics which are fully supported. There are many Dell or HP prebuilts with UHD630 iGPU CPUs that will work. Do some...

Make sure to bump up DVMT pre-allocation to 64MB.
If your BIOS does not provide such options, you could try EFI Shell (setup_var) or RU.EFI to modify BIOS settings.
If there were some way to connect an eGPU possibly. But then it's not really a laptop anymore.
You've already got desktops with dGPUs galore so it wouldn't make sense.
Looks like a few factory refurb Z490 Vision Ds are left at 229. Another possible option.

If you figured out Z390 you can probably get this fully functional too. Toss a coin.
If you have the EFI folder perfected for your Z390, I would get the same thing. Then all you'd do is generate new serials, and off you go. Of course the boards should be on the same BIOS version, too. On Amazon one seller is asking $399. Try eBay instead.
Still some at a reasonable price...
Read Casey's CCC guide for the newer macOS versions. His Golden Builds have it.
Apple made changes in macOS that created problems for CCC. Requires that you choose Legacy bootable backup.
