Hi, I have Mountain Lion working really well on my ThinkPad x220 with one flaw. I love using the TrackPoint but my laptop is used at University where it is often used by others when working together on projects, many of these people do not know how to use the TrackPoint so use the touchpad...
I'm just on the "Optimized Defaults" BIOS settings with my SATA controller in AHCI (which I think was default anyway) - The only BIOS settings that I changed are those that I used to overclock but ML worked fine even before that!
- I did a clean install on a brand new empty SSD.
- I used Unibeast under ML on my MacBook Pro to create the drive from the app store installer.
- Correct, no need to use Bridge Helper under ML as IvyBridge is supported out-of-the-box.
- I'm on BIOS F4, I was going to update but could only...
Yeah, IB does run hotter than SB, I am using quite high voltages so will need to lower them, hopefully that will lower the temperatures a bit.
Note that I am talking about the Core temperature and not the CPU temperature. The CPU temperature will always be cooler than the core temperature...
Thanks,
Temps are okay, I get around 85-87c under Prime 95 when at 4.3GHz, I could probably decrease my voltages too. Not checked idle temps, will do that soon. And I would highly recommend the 650D, I LOVE it!
Best method I can think of is to install ML and try it. Note that you will not be able to use SLI under any version in OSX if that is what you are looking to do.
I just completed my build with the same board and CPU as you but with a single 560ti. When installing I too had the problem with both monitors going to seep so I installed with a single monitor connected to my motherboard's DVI port. After installation I was able to boot up using my 560ti...
Ended up buying a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H and i7 3770k, I bought it before I saw jester969's latest post so I didn't ignore you! :P
From looking around it seems as though it should work fine and uses different sound from the UD3H. I also got a bit "Add to Basket"-happy and ended up buying a...
Bonjour isn't that big a deal, as long as I can still connect to shares via IP address I should be fine, worst case I take it that I could install a PCI NIC and use that?
Would you be able to comment on any other experiences you have had with the gigabyte board and how the setup procedure...
That's good, I preferred that one. Have people used ML on this or even have experience with lion on it? I'd hate to spend all that money for it not to work.
I am planning on buying a new motherboard and CPU on Friday for my hackintosh. I have decided on the i7 3770k but I would like suggestions for the motherboard.
I plan on overclocking so it will need to be z77 and I'd like it to be full size ATX.
I would like the motherboard to work with...
Will do that but would also like to be able to fix without reinstalling as I suspect that the same issue may arise if I simply hard reset/power down the system.
Bit of an odd issue on my 10.7.2 hackintosh. If I sleep I am unable to wake the system (not bothered about that) and I need to hit the reset button. Next time the system boots it hangs on running fsck and I have to reinstall. Same issue in safe mode and single user.
I have tried repairing...
Also, not sure if it is related but the Customize list in the setup wizard is empty whereas on my previous SL hackintosh that I booted the setup with iBoot, I could pick items to install.
Here is a rough summary of what I get in verbose mode, it scrolls very fast so hard to see.
Load HFS+ File several times
IOAPIC: Version 0x20 Vectors 88:111 then long pause
MacxSwapon
No obvious errors are displayed. If you tell me what I need to look for when verbose booting I'll keep an...
Hi, I finally completed my hackintosh and installed App Store Lion using unibeast. The install went without a hitch but now when I try to boot it freezes on a white screen with only a moving mouse cursor. I was able to enter the installer without this issue.
Specs:
Intel Core i7 920
ASUS P6T...
