    Cool, thanks for the info @defbref and @nobodynose. I found the forum post that nobodynose commented after I posted mine(a search didn't bring it up originally here, the reason for my post). Need to determine if I want to go with that way.

    Sony is getting out of the optical drive business.

    I am not sure this is a good sign for people who want to make a hackintosh using the tonymacx86 method in the future, being there are sleep issues with other optical drives. Sony is getting out the optical drive business, by this article at Maximum PC today. Not sure if there is another drive...
