Mojave 10.14.6 on Asus Vivobook S532FA

Hi Kakaro, Sorry for the delay. I have FastBoot and Secure Boot both disabled. The DVMT under Graphics Configuration has to be set to the maximum, or 64MB. Happy Hackintoshing!

Hey MeinSpaghett. Have you had success with macos on the S532FA?

They should be able to help. I've been swamped with work and had to put the hackintosh laptop aside for now. Sorry. I do use it as is and I'm eager to get back to getting it perfect.

Mojave 10.14.6 on Asus Vivobook S532FA

I got that error a few times when I first started. It's looking for the recovery partition which doesn't exist. I got rid of the error by deleting all partitions and reformatting the whole drive. If you have multiple OSes installed on multiple partitions, you can try to delete and format only...

The SN750 is a NVMe drive while that second port only accepts SATA-M.2 drives. You don't have to re-install. Simply put back my/your previous EFI. You can boot from a FatDog64 USB drive to do that. Once you setup your FatDog64 USB and have it plugged in, use the ESC key right after you turn on...

Mojave 10.14.6 on Asus Vivobook S532FA

The wifi card was being reported as "Third party device" and I started to notice some wake issues with it. I installed AirportBrcmFixup.kext with the Clover FixAirport fix. The card now shows up as "AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x20)" and so far, no wake issues.

Turning off hibernation seems to helps with keyboard wake (and probably lid wake when I get it to work again). Execute the following in Terminal: sudo pmset hibernatemode 0 sudo pmset standby 0 sudo pmset autopoweroff 0

Mojave 10.14.6 on Asus Vivobook S532FA

I finally received my replacement WiFi+BT card and extra antenna! I purchased this one with these antennae. I used only one of the antennae along with the two already in my laptop. The card fit well except it has components soldered on the underside of the circuit board. Therefore, it sits at an...

Mojave 10.14.6 on Asus Vivobook S532FA

Sorry. No idea what it could be. I haven't done much with Bluetooth on this laptop yet as I await a replacement card. I was surprised to see it available and had my doubts that it would work. Hope you can figure it out. I have tried to connect but it doesn't show any available devices, even...

Mojave 10.14.6 on Asus Vivobook S532FA

Catalina is a different ball game. Glad you got your laptop going again. With Catalina or Mojave? I've got the keyboard illumination working (16 levels, F6-down, F7-up) along with volume and mute keys (F1, F2, F3). Screen brightness and the other F keys are more of a challenge. Will post when...

The volume keys don't work yet. The on-screen volume control does.

After over a week of mucking about and learning, there's no luck with the touchpad. The sound was relatively easy to get working. Use the attached config to get sound.

Mojave 10.14.6 on Asus Vivobook S532FA

Sorry for the delay, Paul. To get the AC53 to function, I downloaded the drivers from the Asus site: https://www.asus.com/Networking/USB-AC53-Nano/HelpDesk_Download/ Even though it says that the drivers are for macos 10.7 to 10.12, they work well on 10.14. Once installed, you connect as you...

Mojave 10.14.6 on Asus Vivobook S532FA

Great! As I said, sound and other issues exist. I'm working on the touchpad and will keep posting progress. I've left the lid-sleep issue for later. VoodooI2CController kext detects the touchpad (Model #: GDX-1515) but complains that it can't "find a suitable _DSM or XDSM method". Any help from...

Mojave 10.14.6 on Asus Vivobook S532FA

The sleep problem is solved by enabling FixS3D in the ACPI section of the config.plist file, via Clover Configurator. The laptop sleeps after the timeout period set in Preferences and also with the Sleep menu option. However, the lid switch does not put the laptop to sleep - it simply darkens...

Mojave 10.14.6 on Asus Vivobook S532FA

Hey Paulkki, It's a work-in-progress! The attached EFI.zip is what I have so far. The laptop boots up and can reboot only from the USB drive. The graphics work fine, but I'm working on the sleep problem - whenever it sleeps, it won't wake up. Sound and other issues exist and will be being...

Mojave 10.14.6 on Asus Vivobook S532FA

Thank you P1LGRIM! I missed that post while searching. For anybody else trying this laptop and downloading my EFI.zip: - I couldn't locate the UEFI version as 2203 or later. It's reported at X532FA.300, where 300 is the upgraded BIOS version. I threw caution to the wind and tried...

Mojave 10.14.6 on Asus Vivobook S532FA

Hi, It's been almost three weeks that I've been trying to install Mojave 10.14.6 on my ASUS Vivobook S532FA. I had success in fully installing Mojave, but it would boot with only 7MB of video RAM. Also, whenever I would reboot for the first time, after installing kexts to L/E with Hackintosh...
