I love the new mac pro 360 degrees.
For those who aren't happy of the lack of internal components expandibility, think about this. Apple haven't upgraded the thunderbolt display yet... let's see if they add a slot for discrete graphics in it ;) Just a silly idea maybe, but from a designer point...
And by the way I totally hate this new forum. I simply can't get used to it. Please consider to go back to phpbb. I almost stopped reading the forum I loved the most as it switched to this stupid new software.
Just push the same keys as you did before.
Actually it would be cool to have an apple screen with some keys list on the bottom like the original.. but I'm not into graphics unfortunately :P
I tried several times on my Z68X-UD3-B3 with UEFI, but I always get the black frame all around. Maybe...
Article: Update Your OS X Mountain Lion App to 10.8.2
Quick tip.
Clone your application folder (better if you clone the entire boot drive) and upon reinstallation just copy the applications back. Most will work out of the box. The remaining you can fix searching the missing files by app name...
Yes

It's easy to find. Named IBM M1015 comes with some server and it's immediately swapped by many, so it ends up on ebay for cheap. Flashed with the last LSI IT firmware, works like a charm. Search ebay...

The only drawback is: it doesn't support fully hardware virtualization. I've learnt it the hard way, once I tried to set my LSI megaraid SAS controller in pass-through under ESXi.
If you can live with that, just use...
Got the N40L too, installed Oracle Solaris 11 + Napp-It running headless.
Autoexpandible raidz with 3x 2TB greens; set up with several separate file systems, time machine, clone of the disk with CCC over network, and a purchased windows media server 2011 running itunes media server on virtualbox...
I'm running the last xbmc build on my ATV2. I can't say it runs great though. It pretty much lacks performances.
I'm streaming from a HP N40L microserver with Windows Home Server 2011 over cabled gigabit lan. No lags on streaming, but if you stop a movie and open another, and you do it few...
I wonder if they will mess things up again with networking protocols. In my network I have a self built nas with Oracle solaris 11 that I use as time machine + AFP shares; fingers crossed.
What a shame. At this point they should have made it really silent, avoiding that "NEW" mark on the store.
Throwing in for free at least a HD6870 plus a pcie sata3-thunderbolt-usb3 card could be called a minor update. What they did can't be called an update at all, is just ridiculous.
Is it possible to add the choice of this resolution at boot on the kernel flags section? I believe a lot of users use this res and it could be handy to have the option on multibeast instead of manually enter it after the installation.
Thanks :)
