Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

That's quite surprising. I don't have any OS X below Yosemite at the moment so I can't check it myself, but I was quite sure that 10.8.3 added support for most GCN 1.0 GPUs. That's also what older guides from that time are reporting.
I suggest reinstalling the latest Combo Update (10.8.5) to make sure everything is in place.

When you've done so and it still doesn't work, can you provide a list of device IDs in AMD7000Controller?

@Fl0r!an Thought I gonna tell you about my experience with my Sapphire 390X Nitro on 10.11.6. Power Management issues still persist (Screen freezing / Blackscreen), can not even pass the Installation because it occurs already there. Dont know if this is also the case in the Sierra Public Beta yet.

I don't know if this will help anyone, but I really just went with a fresh install of El Capitan.
I created a bootable El Capitan 10.11.6 flash drive from when was running a buggy version of Yosemite.
Then I installed and used recommended BIOS settings (setting IGPU as startup device)
I booted with the my monitor connected to my motherboard, and had glitchy performance. I created a new config.plist with MultiBeast 8.2 (based on my motherboard specs) then set to Inject ATI drivers.
I rebooted with 2 monitors and had no troubles.
I went ahead to configure new serial number!!!
Even iMessage works perfectly.

I use an R 380 4BG Sapphire card with an i7-4790s CPU.

Which bootloader are you using? I'm still running Yosemite with Chimera but I'm afraid to make the jump. I use an MSI R9 380 4GB with i7-4770K cpu.

How stable is the RX 480 in the latest beta? If it is unstable what does that exactly mean? Could one get away with light usage, internet browsing while waiting for better drivers later this year?

Is there a reason there are no "low end" Radeons in the 1st post? HD5450, HD6450 for example????

It's a quite simple reason: I didn't care about GPUs which can't even keep up with todays iGPUs.
Many of them can be enabled with the methods from 1st post, but I didn't research any specific information about them (e.g. device ID in drivers, matching framebuffer, known issues).

I'm using Clover bootloader. It's perfect. I think a clean install with MultiBeast should set you straight. We have close to identical specs.
I have H97M-D3H motherboard.

Hello everyone,

I am relatively new to the Hackintosh community, however I tried to install El Capitan on a PC and it works fairly well, except from 2 issues, with one related to my AMD GPU (AMD HD 5770)

The PC cannot go in sleep mode, it awakes immediately after trying with fans speeding up for a few seconds then going back to normal speed. I see in original post that there is an issue with AMD cards on Mac OS X 10.11 not allowing sleep mode, but I wonder if I flash the bios of my AMD card with a HD 5770 Mac edition bios (with the EFI partition in it specific to Mac edition cards), would sleep mode work then ?

(My other issue is related to audio, when the PC boots up there is no sound coming from loudspeakers connected to the rear of the PC. But when I plug anything in the green output on the FRONT panel, and unplug it, sound works perfectly with loudspeakers still connected at the back. Any idea on how to solve this and make speakers work straight from boot ?)

Apart from that, I am pleased with El Capitan as it works almost as well as my Mac Mini 2011 !
