What OSX may I use with 2 X5670 Westmere-EP CPUS?

I have super micro X8DT3 MB Chipset 5520 and ICH10R

I will be using a compatible RAID controller that has native support OSX from highpoint

Thank you

Who knows, why not test and tell us?

ok I will try.
Not having luck with El capitan and Clover. get an error at boot up with the USB installer. IT goes far but then something happens...need to see if I can take a shot of the screen...cause it auto resets

Your hardware will support 10.6 and above. Whether you can get OS X to install on it is another matter. Dual CPU boards are extremely difficult to get to work. Good luck with it.

Thanks.,

I got 3 MBs like this with X5675 and 48gB FBDIMM... these things FLY! I have 24 cores..with a highpoint rocket raid, man you should see starwars battefield in 4k....if I can get this to boot...with OSX OMG,,, you gave me an IDEA... the BIOS has single CPU settings, I'm going to enable that ..this cuts the system for one CPU. Maybe I can get it to install OSX. Then I can work it after...

Considering this - http://www.everymac.com/systems/app...twelve-core-2.93-mid-2010-westmere-specs.html you have a good chance. It is the BIOS and chipsets on your boards that may limit you, not the PCH or the CPUs.

Thank you.
I was able to a screen shot before it went away... but I got farther..it booted with the APPLE LOGO! almost there...and then as the horizontal bar started to fill, it crashed.

Why the MacBookPro5,1 system definition ?

I have not changed anything.

This is the standard USB stick from unibeast

If you don't specify a system definition then Clover will "guess" one for you.
It doesn't always get it right.
