I have been offered a Mac EFI Security Update 2015-001 1.0
"This firmware update improves the security of Mac systems by addressing an issue where the EFI could potentially be overwritten without authorisation"
https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204934

Should I apply this update to my Hackintosh (a clover booting GA-Z77X-UD5H running Mavericks 10.9.5) or should I simply hide it and ignore since it seems to refer to firmware?

Thanks

no you do not want to do this because the update will not work unless you have a genuine Mac EFI to update so ignore it !

Remember that's a EFI Firmware update to update the equivalent of the BIOS chip in a real Mac !

I thought as much - but wanted to check. Thanks for the very quick response!

You'll get this notice if your System Definition is one of the MacBook Pro SysDefs. DO NOT CHOSE THIS UPDATE!

I've just right click and hide it I've done it on my macbook tho!
