KP on startup after a long time

Very kind of yours... Well, My PC has a sort of switches that can let me decide what will be the HD that boot. Thus if I select the switch connected woth Windows 10 OS, it will boot under Windows 10 and in the meantime Snow Leopard HD is turned off. Just this evening I reloaded BIOS settings...

KP on startup after a long time

Thanks for your reply... In the meantime I burnt a new CD with iBoot latest version (3.x) but the results are always the same. I mean that using iBoot I still get a KP. At present, I don't know how to boot in safe mode, neither from iBoot nor from the HD.

KP on startup after a long time

I'm writing hoping someone will shade some light about this issue I'm facing. My hardware is made up of X58a-UD3R, HD 5770, 12GB of RAM and a simple 1TB Western Digital HD running, until few months ago, Snow Leopard. The computer itself runs also Windows 10 on a separate HD, which is always off...

    Snow Leopard/Windows 10 and 4k video

To my amazement, also under SnowLeopard, the 2560x1440 resolution was automatically selected. I can now define myself satisfied.

    Snow Leopard/Windows 10 and 4k video

After having installed latest AMD drivers avaliable for HD5770 and using the DVI cable enclosed with Philips Brilliance 328B6 everything, under Windows, went as expected. Now I got the desired resolution. Thanks trs96 for having put me on the right track!

    Snow Leopard/Windows 10 and 4k video

Installed latest I found on AMD website but the maximum resolution I get, with a HDMI cable, is always 1920x1080. I'll do another attempt with a different DVI Cable, then if I don't obtain any results I give up.

    Snow Leopard/Windows 10 and 4k video

Something strange happens, under Win10. If monitor is connected with a DVI cable, I can obtain just 1920x1080 and, as I said before, a 2560x1440 resolution is terribly low quality. If I connect the monitor with a HDMI cable, I obtain a 1920x1080 or lower resolutions. It sounds really strange to...

    Snow Leopard/Windows 10 and 4k video

Thanks for your prompt reply, trs96. Perhaps I'm trying to extract blood from a wall... Anyway, as far as I can see also Sapphire HD5770 is capable to manage 2560x1600p resolution... I can't understand my new Philips 328B6 4k monitor set on 2560x1440 resolution is terribly low quality. Thus I'm...

    Snow Leopard/Windows 10 and 4k video

I'm writing to receive some good advices for a substitute GPU that supports 4k. At present my old hackintosh based on a X58A-UD3R, i7 950 runs SL 10.6.8 on a separate HD, but there's also a HD where Windows 10 is installed. I received a 4k monitor as a gift thus my old Sapphire HD5770 seems not...

    New GPU for X58A-UD3R

Thanks for your reply, Jamesbond 007. You made me aware of what I was still suspecting since a while. By the way, it’s not assured that the same GPU has issues under SL. I own other builds with more recent OSX releases, but the build I told about is convenient due to its dual boot. In any case...

    New GPU for X58A-UD3R

Assuming that in the last period I had some strange issues with Radeon HD 5770 under Windows 10 (GPU used both by Windows10 and OSX 10.6.8, on different boot disks - of course), I'm thinking to change GPU... but, what GPU is suitable for Snow Leopard? I mean, is there a "modern" GPU that can...

    [Success] GIGABYTE Z370 Gaming 7 + Intel Core i7-8700K + RX 580 + (2x) Dell P2715Q 4k @ 60Hz

At present I have just an old hackintosh (i7 3770 on Z77 etc) running Mavericks 10.9.5. Perhaps it's enough to download High Sierra Installer and create the USB stick that will enable mi to create a newer hackintosh build, following this wonderful guide. Eltos, I have somewhat clear how to...

Sorry for the noob question HackaShaq... How did you succeed creating a USB stick with the right version of High Sierra?
