Hi, if anyone could help me please,
My motherboard is a Gigabyte Z87N-WiFi with a SSD drive as the install disk and a Nvidia 640 video card.

I followed the instructions for Mavericks installation. Succesfull install. Go to reboot computer as per instructions and computer will not go past grey screen with apple logo and turning symbol. I've now waited in excess of 20 minutes to see if it will go any further.

Can someone help me please?

Sorted it out, Mavericks working now

Have to type -x every time to get it to start.

Why is this?

same problem with me... what did you do exactly to sort it out...

I have found no solution to the problem. It just will not work.

I can only boot up in safe mood. I've tried to find a solution for the past few hours, tried different bios settings.

I don't think there is a solution. Must not be compatible with this board.

Disable the VT-d option in BIOS and no need to boot with -x anymore.

Thank you very much doguitto. I now have a working Mavericks.

I can't thank you enough.

I'm a bit scared to upgrade, I have the same Z87N-WIFI board...... can someone tell me what they did to make 10.9 work? Did you do the upgrade from the App Store or what?

I have a Z87MX-D3H that I'm using with a GTX760 and I also had to do this. (I did not have to disable internal graphics.) IMHO a mention of this BIOS option should probably be added to the Mavericks install guide.
