[GUIDE] Dell XPS 13 9333

Just a quick "silly" question.. for the section '5.4: Additional kexts', I only need to copy them to the Clover/kext/10.10 folder? there's no need for a kext util/tool since i'm not touching the System/Library/Extentions folder?

Correct. It is drag/drop or copy/paste.

Hi there

I can confirm that by following your (fantastic) install steps for the XPS 9333, the display port works 100%.

I have however noticed a problem now which I think think is related to sleep and the A06 BIOS update I did because with A04, my sleep definitely work. After about 10 mins or so, the OS will reboot itself - not sure how I can log crash events or see what is causing this.

I can also try and pull the new DSDT's (under A06) and run your scripts again? The think is I have the i74650u version and not the i5 version, so it could be that the DSDT changed?

Finally, I am really desperate to source BCM94352Z adapter for this XPS since it's proven to work, but can't find any on the net and eBay won't ship to South Africa... any ideas where else I can look for this network card?

Hi,

It looks like they sell it from aliexpress (china based site which is totally reliable). The card itself works as a charm! Although, I got mine from eBay in germany.

You should try updating your config.plist with the one I just pushed to github which contains a USB post wake patch (courtesy RM's u430 repo). It fixed the bluetooth after sleep issues I started noticing this week when I used BT more extensively (BT is on the USB bus).

Thanks mate, I will give it a try during my next re-install. I'm currently back on Ubuntu since this is my company paid laptop. I need to have it 100% reliable (not like Ubuntu is that, but it's supported by our IT department). Another big drawback for me is that file vault is not working for hackintosh.

[GUIDE] Dell XPS 13 9333

I came across the hardware information for the new Dell XPS 13 9343 (2015 model).

https://gist.github.com/semenko/60015029e13c1de65ff6

Interesting is that the WiFi/BT has been replaced with the Dell DW1560 (4352/20702) NGFF M.2 card!
This card should work out of the box for WiFi (with kext enabler) and for Bluetooth (with BrcmPatchRAM).

The guide still looks applicable for the new 9343 model (When using audio and trackpad in HDA / PS2 mode through DSDT). So that is good news for new buyers following this guide.

Should be interesting when 5th-gen support is added to OS X...

10.10.2 update info added to post #2 and required changes in config.plist pushed to github.

[GUIDE] Dell XPS 13 9333

10.10.1 update - no issue. Reapply OpenCL patch after the update (step 5.9). Everything else works right after updating.

10.10.2 update - HD4400 support is now completely removed from the OS. config.plist on github is updated to inject HD4600 Desktop FakeID to restore QE/CI. Also contains updated '2nd stage boot' patches for .2. Everything else seems to be working fine as in .1.

So I just run the 10.10.2 update from Appstore. And after that I update my config.plist?

Spoke too soon - lockup on sleep/shutdown after a couple hours of uptime is back, likely because changes in the 10.10.2 intel mei drivers made my patch void.
I will disassemble the kext and write a new patch. In the meantime don't let your machine sleep after it's been on for a few hours or it will lockup.
