RehabMan, I am reading ACPI specs. It's too hard to understand for me. You know, I have no any hardware background. So, would you please recommend some materials(book, website, etc.) for newbie to me?

If you're actually doing programming and you're curious, then you should be able to pick up on new things. ACPI is easy compared to real driver development as the ACPI interpreter does a lot of things for you. Most of what you need to know can be picked up as you go.
