For some reason this isn't working out for me. I followed all the steps aaron97 listed, but my monitor isn't picking up the connection to the card!
Are you running mountain lion? What kind of connection DVI, VGA, or HDMI? Can you use your integrated graphics and see if OSX at least recognizes it under "about my mac"?

Hi aaron97,
I am running ML 10.8.2. I tried both Dual Link DVI and regular DVI. I can try that tomorrow. I think it said HD 4000, so it must not have been recognized. It goes on, but just doesn't show up on the monitor.

I doubt this would work, but you can try disabling integrated graphics in bios and telling it to initiate display PEG.

I'll try because I think in BIOS I had to set graphics to something for integrated graphics and it was something else for using a graphics cards. If this doesn't work I don't know what went wrong.

It should still work even if you did change something, but try anyways. Have you tried to see if OSX at least recognizes the card when you plug it in and boot under your HD4000. Under about this mac it should state both HD4000 and GTX 650 ti.

I'll plug it in tomorrow morning and post about how it goes. If it does recognize it, what should I do next.

try editing your org.chameleon.Boot.plist
add this to the bottom replace 1920x1200 with your monitors native resolution.
<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1920x1200x32</string>

I'll do that too and let you know how everything goes tomorrow morning! Thanks for the help.

To be more precise...

From "About This Mac" go to "More Info". Then to "System Report". BTW the quick way of getting here is to select "System Information" from the Apple menu ("About This Mac" switches to "System Information" when you hold down Opt/Alt).
Then go to Graphics/Displays and you should be able to see each card and which displays are connected to each.

If you just look at the pretty picture that comes up after "More Info" then you may miss some of the info. For example these are on the same machine:
