I used this thread as a guide for my first hackintosh and I'm up and running. My only problem at the moment is that I can't log in to the App Store. I get a message stating that "An unknown error has occurred". I've seen some references to it when searching but I'm not quite sure if they're out of date or not. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

If I am not mistaken, I switched the system definition from Mac Pro to Mac Mini in multibeast and it worked fine. this also fixes iCloud.

Mac Mini definition is highly recommended for HD3000/4000 as it allows you to have two monitors.

Strange, I have the early 2008 Mac Pro system definition (MacPro3,1) and I can use 2 monitors on HD4000 (one DVI one HDMI) and my AppStore and iCloud work fine...

I thought that I must have misconfigured something so I decided to reinstall the OS, and it seems to have worked. I can now log in to the App Store and everything seems to be fine.

I may try to put together a separate post with more details, but for now here are the settings I used:

Curious if any one you running this board are having the "An Unknown Error Has Occured"when trying to login/downloads from the Mac App store?

There's a lot of info on it on the web (even on Tonymac). I haven't looked into it too much, but as of now I cannot download anything from the Mac App store (Itunes, Icloud, etc. are fine).

buckeyes,
go to system information (apple logo>about this mac>system report) then on the left click on 'Network'.
youll see the network devices on your system. does the ethernet show up as en0?

Sure does. I looked at that earlier (and even tried deleting the network.plist file).. no luck. Still get the same error. Some people say try creating a second account and doing it that way.. I'll give that a whirl.

Anyone using the patched 1.30 BIOS and dual booting Windows? For some reason I cannot overclock at all (yes, 3570K unlocked CPU) no matter what I do. Wonder if the BIOS mod has affected or its me? Feel free to PM me if you want to avoid cluttering a thread about installing OSX ;)

By any chance do you have a dual boot setup. Cause i have the same motherboard with an i5 3570k,gtx 670 and i cant dual boot unless i have the unibeast usb plugged in. And before i installed lion i had a windows ssd drive all ready. But when i installed lion 10.8.2 on my second hard drive while the windows ssd drive was unplugged. after installing it installed boot loader again so that i can see my windows 7 rather then seeing only lion. But that did not work at all. And am on the normall bios 1.30 not the patched 1.30 bios. Plus for some reason the headphones do not work for me. I have the toslink cable hooked up to my receiver to get sound. Also if anyone know how to get 5.1 sound working please let me know thanks

Strange. I run dual displays off my HD4000 on my H77M-ITX as a Mac Pro 2008.
