Hey,

Saw your post of the Z77n, you said that onboard wifi didn't work, and you had to install a pci card? But you had also a GPU installed and the board has only one pci-express card, how did you do that.

Btw freakn' nice build:D
gonna copy it much the same way, but using a ssd

There is a "mini" PCI Express slot where the stock Intel wifi card plugs in. You take that out and replace it with the Atheros card. I'm not talking about the full size PCI Express slot.

So I took out my graphics card and now my screen works, is there anything I should do to make the graphics card work properly, is should just try the same multi beast setti vs as biter melons and that should work

First, thanks so much for posting, BitterMelon!

This is my first build, and so far things are going smoother than anticipated. My build is quite similar to yours, although with a Gigabyte 670 installed.

The only issue I'm currently having is with sleep. My computer will go to sleep on its own and manually. However, when I wake it from sleep by pressing a mouse button or keyboard key, the computer appears to wake (670 fans spin up), but the display remains dark and no DVI signal is detected. Any ideas?

Thanks again. Picked up the Dell Atheros card you recommended and worked immediately.

UPDATE. Seems when it falls asleep on its own (after 15 minutes of inactivity), it will wake just fine. However, if I manually put it to sleep I cannot awake the display. Is this "normal"? Will I need to download PleaseSleep if I want to be able to use sleep manually? Thanks.

BitterMelons card is a Radeon I believe. The Mac OS supports that natively. The Multibeast settings on the example have little to do with the settings for a Nvidia 660ti. They show you settings for audio, the realtek controller, the system definition, etc.

Do some research on setting up your specific graphic card on this forum, not just this thread. Find someone who has it working with Mountain Lion and learn what they did. I believe it will require installing the latest Nvidia driver for Mac which can be found on the forum plus some other settings. I tried setting up that card on another machine but didn't have the time to work through it. I do know that at the least you need to be certain in bios that you set up your card having priority versus the built in port, save and then reboot plugged into the card. On the system i tried the card on and you most likely will also need to do the same type in "-graphicsenabler=no" to boot the first time or it will hang or give kernel panics. Then when you get it to run, in Multibeast under "customization/boot options" you need to check "graphicsenabler=no" to change it permanently For me on this system, the built in DVI gives me all i need.

That's all the help I can give you so I won't be posting on that issue again.

BitterMellon or anyone with a similar build, I was wondering if iTunes home sharing is confirmed to work. Not video air play, but just library sharing to devices like iPhone, Apple TV, iPad, and iPod touch. I would like to do this build but home sharing is very important to me and it seems like it isn't talked about to much. Thank you for your time, and what a great build!

BitterMelon - Thank you for starting this thread and posting all the responses along the way.

I was already thinking about building something similar based on the Custo Mini 2012 post earlier and was so happy to see an active thread on this build. My build -
Gigabyte GA-H77N-WIFI - (I am not looking to overclock the CPU hence the choice vs Z77N) MB
Intel i7-3770 - 3.4GHz (without the K, so again no overclock) CPU
Kingston 8GB 1600MHz KVR 16N11/8 DDR3 x 2 - 16GB RAM
Seagate 2TB 3.5" SATA 6GB 7200RPM HDD
Crucial 256GB 2.5" SATA3 SSD
BitFenix Prodigy White CASE
Silverstone ST54SF-G SFX-450W 80+Gold PSU

Managed to get Unibeast Mountain Lion installed on the above build only yesterday, needless to say after a lot of spinning discs and failed boots. (The PC was put together the night before, so my first hackintosh experience wasn't disastrous.)

I used "PCIRootUID=0 -x" boot flags to get my system started and installing the OSX ML on the SSD avoid the "boot0 error" which was an issue with installing on the 1TB partition of the HDD.

Everything appears to work except 2 issues below.

Audio - cannot get this to work. I followed your Multibeast's settings but cannot see any Sound Devices under System Profile. Not sure what I have done wrong since you mentioned yours worked OOTB.
Any suggestions as to what I should do to diagnosed the problem or better fix it would be most appreciated.

Bonjour - My hackintosh does not want to connect to other Macs on my network (1 iMac, 1 Macbook and 1 TimeCapsule) but no problem whatsoever connecting to the PC on the same network.
Again I have used your Multibeast's settings.
I reckon it's an issue with Bonjour and the ethernet interface. Because I can access the Time Capsule through "smb://192.168.1.xx" just have issues with connecting to "TimeCapsule"
There are some unresolved discussions on this in tonymacx86 forum.

I also researched into this in the web. found the link below:
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/181903-guideretail-snow-leopard-106-on-a-ga-ep45-ud3r/ which refers to snow leopard osx. I tried the fix but it didn't work.

Would love to hear if others have similar problems.

Happy to join this thriving community. Thanks for any help in advance.

I got my graphics card working but now I can't get the Internet to work. I followed you're mb settings and Internet worked before but now it doesn't and I don't know why

Sry for putting so many posts on this forum but I've gotten responses from u guys here, not much luck on other forums. U guys r great thnx for all the help so far, I'm getting there.

So I have a strange dilemma here, I ordered my CPU from ncix and told them to reformat my 256gb solid state drive for osx and to just instal windows on my 128gb ssd but they switched what I wanted, so I had to reformat my 256gb ssd to osx journaled and installed osx on it, (what I wanted), and I also had to reformat my 128gb ssd to GUID fat 32, but when I go to install windows it says I can only instal on NTFS hard drives. I can't change to NTFS in disc utility so wtf? I have to take my ssd out and reformat in a windows CPU? Is there no other way?
