If you have the same motherboard as me (ASUS-P5G41T-M LX), chances are that you may have a couple of issues with your system, these being Ethernet and audio.

Ethernet

The Asus board that I have runs the AR8131 Ethernet driver and for some reason this doesn't work!

I had to install a special kext file (AtherosL1cEthernet.kext) this can be found here (http://www.mediafire.com/?ss4ewoe6rdrc7kp) using a program called Kext Helper (http://cheetha.net/).

I also ran another program called Kext Utility, which repairs the kext directory permissions after you install (It can be installed from the multibeast program).

Ethernet worked great after that, and my broadband could be used.

Audio

After I installed, I didn't have any sound, the best way of getting this is to install the HDA voodoo sound program. This can be found on the multibeast program.

One possible issue I had was that I installed the very latest HDA voodoo audio program from multibeast, and after I rebooted, the sound quality was strange, sometimes I would ear the odd popping sounds, that wasn't great, so I had to downgrade to the second most recent HDA voodoo driver found on the multibeast program.

From then on its been a perfect install so far!

Thanks for that .. But i have a doubt...... Does mac os support a dual core processor.. That is pentium......
Pls help me out i can't even boot into the OSX Welcome screen..Pls help me out ......

For anyone trying this motherboard or any other it will help immensely if you use a 9800gt or 9500gt video card for running the installation. Then do the enablers for your specific card then shutdown switch cards and reboot. ALSO DONT EVER EXPECT ONBOARD VIDEO TO ALLOW YOU TO BOOT! 9800 and 9500 both work perfectly in Snow Leopard and Lion. I was recently told by one of the sales guys at CompUSA that if there was a medal for buying the most video cards, I would win it. I think I have tested every NVidia card that is less than $80. Tonymac seem to imply that most invidia cards won't work with Lion and he has removed the NVenabler from Multibeast. They actually work great if you install the old NVenabler and if its a Cuda card the cuda drivers too. I think he gets kickbacks if people buy his recommended hardware via his website. So getting everyone to buy a new card is in his interest.

hello, i have the P5G41T-M LX2, would this motherboard work?Also does anyone know how to put lion on this motherboard with windows 7 already installed. I have a 1tb hard drive intel pentium dual core and 4gb ram.

I know that you have to partition the hard drive and i tried looking at tonys guide too dual booting but i didnt get it.

i also have a sapphire hd radeon 5670 1gb graphics card, i have checked to see if its compatable but i havent found anything.

Could anyone to a step by step guide as well because i am starting from stratch.

help would be appreciated

That motherboard and processor should work fine. OSX sees the pentium D and Pentium Dual cores as Core2Duo's. I think your video card will work fine on Lion but not sure I always use Invidia personally.

If you must use the same hard drive. ( I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DON'T) You will first need to use a utility to resize the NTFS windows partition. and then boot the osx installer and format that partition as GUID, and do your install on that partition.
The much better option is to buy a second hard drive and install it in the first Sata port. Do your OSX install on it. But first disconnect your windows drive. Once you are completely installed updated and bootable on OSX then reconnect your windows drive on the next sata port . When you see the tonymac red apple on boot just hit any key and choose to boot the NTFS RESERVE partition to go to windows or it will boot osx if you do nothing at all.
To do the install for Snow leopard just follow my guide on here. Otherwise create a bootable USB for Lion and follow tonys method.

kind of a bump, but take in consideration some of this boards come with realtek lan chips. (mine does)

I have used one of the versions of VOODOOHDA and they have worked, yes there are some that have a crackling sound. I think it was like the oldest on the multibeast with the nvidia graphics
I am currently re-hackintoshing that computer now so I will tell you how it goes. CHEERS

I have the same motherboard and work with RealtekRTL81xx-0_0_90.pkg sl 10.6.4 but i try to upgrade 10.6.8 im lost with the motherboard driver i try anithing but i can't configure mi 9800gt 1g evga but whit 10.6.4 works
