No Audio Devices - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

Hi !

Before anything, I followed this thread's steps, and disabled SIP from the start. In another install of El Capitan, I had managed to get audio working somehow with the AppleHDA-1150.apk from multibeast Yosemite, but it's not working now. It removes HDEF in the IoRegistry when I install it.

Here's my report :
  1. No audio devices found
  2. OS X 10.11.5/Gigabyte Z170 K3/BIOS version F1 (ID 8A29AG0X)/i5 6600k/GeForce GTX 980 STRIX OC
  3. Multibeast ALC 1150

Thank you for your help. Getting audio to work is the last thing I need to have my hackintosh truly set up

It removes HDEF
Tried every method, one after the other. If the first method fails, stop. The clue: "Error: no IOReg/HDEF; BIOS/audio/disabled or ACPI problem." ACPI problem.
1. Remove S/L/E/HDAEnabler1.kext
2. See Unsupported/Non working Realtek ALC AppleHDA/Post #1
3. Install AppleHDA audio, one method only.
4. If no audio, reply with new files.

All right, so I've done what you said, and I think I'm getting close to getting the audio working.

  1. I have reinstalled the native AppleHDA.kext
  2. My realtek 1150 now appears in DPCI Manager
  3. HDEF appears in IORegistry with the correct layout-id
  4. Now I indeed get the "Error: no IOReg/HDEF; BIOS/audio/disabled or ACPI problem."
  5. So I went to your post Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide] and I first tried to reinstall ALC with multibeast, which didn't work
  6. So I tried method #2 with one of your scripts worked up until the patching where I get the error :
Print: Entry, ":KernelAndKextPatches:KextstoPatch:xxx dict", Does Not Exist
Where do I go from here ? I tried looking at this part of my config.plist but didn't see any error? (but then again, I am totally new to this hackintosh deal, so I'm learning everything on the go)
Thank you for your help, toleda.

Attachments show MultiBeast and cloverALC and pikealphaALC and AppleALC installed.
See Post #1/Uninstall Realtek ALC AppleHDA
One method only, try again.

Hey, Toleda

I've uninstalled everything, and right now I've only installed ALC with multibeast.
I think I've figured out what's wrong. All along, the layout-id wasn't the right one (the one I kept checking was for my Graphic Card HDMI audio output), it shows <00 00 00 00>.
So I've tried to edit the layout-id using MaciASL as per your instructions, but whenever I try to compile (even after patching your clean compile), I get syntax errors for several lines :

syntax error, unexpected '}', expecting '('

This is the only thing standing in my way, I think.

Not necessary, MultiBeast sets Clover Audio ID when installing audio
Screenshots are useless; attach all requested files.

I've re-uninstalled everything, re-installed native AppleHDA.kext, and only installed ALC with MultiBeast, and the layout-id still isn't right.

layout-id still isn't right
config.plist/Devices/Audio/inject/1 is correct
Attach EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/Patched/SSDT-HDEF+-1.aml
Cannot use config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Patches/Rename HDAS to HDEF with SSDT-HDEF....

1. Did fresh install of el capitan and can't get audio selectors in settings to show up.

can't get audio selectors in settings to show up
boot log does not show realtekALC.kext loading and does show:
Code:
54:127 0:000 1 Kexts to patch
54:127 0:000 KextPatch[0]: 8 bytes, AppleAHCIPort
config.plist shows 3 patches.
Installed audio to a different EFI partition than the EFI partition booted.
Mount the boot EFI partition and run cloverALC again
