A quick question for those running multiple graphics cards. I'm currently running a single card connected to a single monitor. I was thinking of installing a second card to improve performance of applications that take advantage multiple GPU's (Adobe CC, Final Cut X). If I install a second card, it won't be connected to anything as I don't need a second monitor. My question is, will OS X recognize that there is another GPU available for compute tasks and take advantage of it or will it remain idle until a monitor/tv is plugged into one of its ports? Thanks.

kyphotog , I have 2 gtx 680 and they are recognized , in luxmark operate the two but only opencl 1.2 , but no see cuda in luxmark v2 o v3 . In windows operate (opencl 1.2 + cuda) and points is the double.

cuda no work in mac os? , and tested driver native macosx and webdriver with cuda driver instaled and I do not get it to work cuda.

is normal ? no way to activate cuda ? SMBIOS affects? I use mac pro 6.1.

My Yosemite hackintosh was working fine until I changed my case to a 900d to support more Gpus and reset cmos accidentally.
Is there a way to simply boot from the ssd OS X like before?
I can't get to the boot screen only the bios
Thanks

is this fixable via simple bios settings, or using the clover usb bootloader?
i just dont want to erase my 'working' osx setup on the ssds, i just cant access it like i did before.

tried using the clover bootloader. at every stage the sata ssds do not show. from the the bios to the boot screen to the disk utility when installing a new yosemite osx. is this something to do with the 'version' or clover and/or x79.dmg files?

i've tried every sata port combo, power cycled, cleared cmos, bios settings. i'm very sure the ssds are fine with a working yosemite hackintosh setup. i just can't access it.
any help? thanks.

i'm thinking maybe getting a new ssd to install then pull over data from the current ssds. would this work in any way?

AMD Radeon HD 7870
Intel Core i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme

I followed your guide and I am getting issues durring boot from USB.
The boot goes very quickly but randomly is restarting in the middle of the boot (100% of the time). I took some pictures of the log message it restarts on but it is a different log message every time. Here are some of them (in no particular order):

  • AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementDriver: ready
  • com.apple.AppleFSCompressionTypeZlib load succeeded
  • AppleIntelE1000e(Info): changing NIU from 0 to 1500
This setup worked with Chimera but I want to put El Capitan on it through Clover.

Ok never mind! I used the R4BE files when I should have used the R4E
You are amazing Shilohh!

Hi Shilohh and Tonymacx86 community!

I am trying to upgrade from 10.9.4 to 10.11.5 and I encounter issues after the install.
I had followed the guide several times, and the older version of the system was actually installed using the original guide. My system is really similar hence I am using Shilohh's files

I have no issues installing but after the first 2 boots done during the installation I receive the following Panic. (image attached).

I had already tried different flag combinations. Restarting all steps related to Clover in the Boot Drive, removing extra PCIe audio cards available in slot 3, cleaning 10.9.5 kexts in S/L/E, etc

I tried to see more cases in the general El Capitan guides but nothing seems to work. One of the differences I see with Shiloh system is that he uses PCIe1 for his GPU, I have it in Slot 4 due to a bigger air cooler, but I had already changed SSDT-4 located in the Kepler folder of the installation files.

Also tried with or without DSDT.

Can you recognize something in the image attached? Or suggest how to move further? I can provide more information in case needed.

Thanks for your help

Thanks for this thread Shiloh! I have my Sabertooth X79 up and running with 10.11.5. But only have Bluetooth audio and no USB 3 support. (But USB 3 drive with power will work in USB 2 port,) Also no wake from sleep as well as OS X default graphic drivers after installing WebDriver-346.03.10f02.pkg. I will wait around for fixes. Don't want to use DSDT. Thank you, sir!

Already solved after removing old Kexts from the boot EFI and from S/L/E related to the previous install. Everything looks good now (at least for a first stage install).
I'll keep on working on iMessenger and other post install duties.

Thanks Shilohh for the great work and the detailed guide. And thanks to all other member who upload information. Several posts allowed me to figure it out in a matter of hours.

Cheers
