Hey everyone, just wanted to see if anyone knew if these two components work together and need any adjustments done with the system for them to work.

You will need a board with BIOS version F7 to use the i5 4690K processor - Old(er) stock will be F5.

Good Luck

Thanks for the link, how would i find out what BIOS version this board comes with? Can't seem to find it anywhere?

Boards ship with the BIOS version that was current at the time of manufacture.
Old stock = Old BIOS

I see, so to even attempt to update the board I'd need a Processor that works on F5 Version?
Sounds to me that it may just be easier going for the 4690 if that is the case :D

(Sorry for lack of knowledge on this, I only very very recently started learning about Hackintoshing and want to make sure I order the right parts).

Thanks

You'd also need F7 to use the 4690. You could use a 4570 or a 4670 which are not Haswell
refresh CPUs with an F5 bios.

I just finished building a new Z97X-UD5H with i7 4790 on the BIOS F6 and had no problem.

Just upgraded to F8 a few minutes ago. :)

It's a good combination. But be sure to get memory on the supported list and a good Haswell-qualified PSU.

I have managed to get Mavericks native power management working and the chip runs nice and cool if I'm not deliberately torturing it.

I haven't tried overclocking and I'm not sure how to go about it.
