Hi everyone! First of all I would like to thank you all the community around here ... even if this is my first post all the knowledge dwelled in those post helped me a great deal!

I've built an hackintosh based on Lion with the following spec:

Intel 2600K
Asus Maximus IV Extreme Z
12Gb Ram Corsair Dominator 1600
nVidia GTX590
Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium PCI-EX

How I installed it:

Hi guys! Don't know if it's still needed but as some people asked (and even if I'm f.ing late...) I'm gonna post the exact sequence on how I installed OSX on my rig.

What do you need:

- My Rig

- Lion OSX UNIBEAST Install on a USB drive ; or install from Dvd using Rboot

- A compiled DSDT !
3203 DSDT available in the attachments, plus the patch.txt file that I used.
Anyway it's always best to compile it by urself!

- The correct "SpeedStepper" script for the right version of Lion or S.Leopard. ( Not needed with MODDED BIOS, see below)

- The GTX 5xx Enabler ( Included in the Multibeast 4.3.1 package!)

- The Kext that I use for my SB Titanium PCI EX (kudos to someone, somewhere)

Remarks:
- To properly recognize and enable my GTX 590 under Lion OSX I had to put it in the first PCIEX Slot (the 8x one), otherwise it won't work.

-If installing from a Snow Leopard DVD, I had to plug my GTX 590 in the second PCIEX slot (the 16x one), otherwise I couldn't reach the setup screen, could have been boot Dvd related. This doesn't apply in the case your installing directly Lion OSX from USB.

-My Bios settings are at default, apart from the overclock and that I disabled all the SATA Controllers except form the Intel one of course. EHCI on/off doesn't seem to matter.

-I never tried to use the OnBoard HD Audio

-Recover from Hibernation won't work properly if you have an external HD; sometimes it might work out of luck
(SLEEP CORRECTLY WORKING WITH LATEST 3203 MODDED BIOS, btw ethernet card needs latest kext to recover from sleep)

Installing sequence:

- Boot from Usb Unibeast drive and Install Lion OSX (use latest version for Osx 1.0.7.3)

- Once installed, boot from USB again, choose Lion installation, go past the welcome screen of the OS and update it to your likings.

- Reboot again from USB. Use "SpeedStepper" as described in it's post. If you avoid this step you'll get spanked by endless Kernel Panics. ( You can avoid this step if using 3203 modded bios, seek more info below)

- Copy Multibeast and the DSDT file together somewhere (e.g on the desktop). Dsdt file should be named "DSDT.aml"

- Run Multibeast and choose USER DSDT install option. Also tick the kexts for the LAN Adapter (hnak's Appleintel...), and TRIM kext if you have an SSD .

- Run GTX 5xx Enabler, install it with default options (no injector) or Choose Nvidia Gtx enabler in Multibeast.

- Put VodooHDA.kext on desktop and install with KextBeast, Install PrefPane too.

- Reboot -> ? -> Profit!

UPDATE BIOS 3203:

Now it's possible to run OSX without having to use the Flaked Speedstepper patch , that means native cpu throttling.
The Bios is 3203 Modded bios is available here http://bios4asus.blogspot.com.es/
Thx samisnake!

Also thanks to Brycv it's also possible to correctly patch the DSDT! Audio is supposed to work too.

See attachments for 3203 DSDT.aml + the patch.txt if you want to compile it for yourself (thx again Brycv)

That's about how I install my OSX everytime I want to.

That's an awesome config. It's hard to say what the issue is exactly. I wanted to get one of those Maximus Asus boards but some people told me that the sound would not work. However you have got that working. The other issue is the GTX590 is not officially supported so that may be what is causing the problem. Do you have another video card or do you have a friend who could lend you another one to do some testing, hopefully an ATi one?

Strangely the hiccups are now gone. I've tried reinstalling with my patched DSDT plus leaving some kexts enabled in MultiBeast to avoid Kpanics. But now I'm unable to shutdown the system properly (even with Evoreboot.kext)...

Could someone point me in the right direction on how to patch the DSDT to enable HPET, Fix USB Kpanics (without using .kexts) and Fix Shutdown/Reboot?

Anyway If it can be helpful to anyone this is what I found out in relation to enabling my GTX590:

Without DSDT the Gtx590 is not correctly enabled even with modded GF100.kext, but works with ATY_Init (but seems a bit slow) (PCIRootUID seems not necessary)

With my DSDT if use both modded GF100.kext plus ATY_Init I get a blackscreen after boot logo. Without ATY_Init everything works fine, QI/CE seems faster than "without DSDT+ATY_Init" combo. (tried only without PCIRootUID)

Everything solved! First post updated.

Maximus IV peeps...

This is invaluable info! Thanks for your efforts on this board! I am great when I can get into the OS, but I can't figure out how to boot the install disk! I have done SOOOOO many hackintoshes but this one eludes me. Any chance you guys would have any insight? Which flags? BIOS settings? Anything would help!

Keep the fire burning!

Could you please give me the DSDT file for this motherboard after you patched it? I am new to these things and trying to install for the first time. Or tell me How to apply the patches that you mentioned.
