Hi all can someone help me with my install? I have the i3 530 and the Ga H55M-S2H MB with 4gbs of ram. I have the Diamond Radeon HD 5570 with 1gb DDR3. I am running 10.6. I did install the 10.6.7 combo but it would not boot after that so I had to reformat and reinstall. I have not enabled anything at this point. Thought Id would wait till someone with more smarts then me to help me with the MultiBeast and a DSDT file and how to do it. I do have the aml file for my MB on my desktop I just don't no what to do yet. I am searching the forms to answers just have not found it yet so if someone could help Id be so thankful.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

joey

PS.. my monitor is a Acer lcd model S202HL

Did you follow the guide?

http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/ ... -x-on.html

Did you reboot with the iBoot disk in the drive? Was DVD first boot priority in BIOS?

DSDT goes on desktop, select UserDSDT and network, sound drivers, system utilities.

If you get stuck be as specific as possible, so we can help.

ok heres what I did.

I downloaded my DSDT and put it on the desktop
I downloaded and installed the 10.6.7 combo and installed it and did not reboot yet.
I then choose UserDSDT Install, System Utilities, Drivers & Bootloaders and choose for Audio ALC8xxHDA "still no Audio", Graphics I choose ATI 1.6.34.13 and Notwork I choose Realtek Gigabit Ethernet 2.0.6. Installed OSx86 Software. Then ran Kext Utility and rebooted but screen lost connections and had to reboot. the only way I got it to boot in to OSX was to boot with cpus=1 PciRoot=0 -v. O and I did take out the boot cd. So I am in OSX 10.6.7 and it has everything in profiler right that I can tell just no Audio yet and I don't no if opencl is working or not. Internet still not working right downloads take hours instead of mins. Web pages don't load well. Last hard drive icon is wrong it looks like its the one for external hard drives. So what did I not install that I should of to boot right and fix audio and network and if needed open cl? thanks a lot for all your help guys.

You have two issues there:

Integrated graphics is minimally supported, I strongly suggest you pick up a fully compatible video card....check in the Wiki under hardware

Second your board has a Realtek ALC888B codec you need to install the AppleHDARollback in addition to the Realtek kext.

If Front Row works QE/CL is working. Or open widgets and add a new one, if it shimmers, it is working.

My video is a Diamond Radeon HD 5570 with 1gb DDR3 card and not onboard. My system see its as a
Chipset Model: ATI Radeon HD 5000
Type: GPU
Bus: PCIe
PCIe Lane Width: x16
VRAM (Total): 1024 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x68d9
Revision ID: 0x0000
Displays:
Acer S202HL:
Resolution: 1600 x 900 @ 60 Hz
Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes
Rotation: Supported
Display Connector:
Status: No Display Connected
Display Connector:
Status: No Display Connected

It should be 5570. So ok I should then re-run MultiBeast and select "Drivers & Bootoaders" "Realtek" and only select the AppleDHA Rollback? and what about the boot problem? and the network. I'll do the audio first and come back to see the answer for the lest then.

thank you so much.

Your hardware signature doesn't match, you might want to update it.

Yes, just select AppleHDARollback and system utilities....that might fix the audio issues.

Take another look at network after you run system utilities and reboot.

You can tell if QI/CL is working by either opening Front Row (won't work without) or trying to add a Widget to the desktop (if it shimmers in waves, you are good!)

ok this is going a lot better then I thought it would. So my audio is working now. I believe my QI/CL is working also since front row loads up and works fine. so that leaves the booting and networking and the hardware signature doesn't match. My internet works its just very slow to load pages and you can't download. I can only boot off the hard drive if I enter this command.
cpus=1 PciRoot=0

Im not sure what you mean by my hardware sig not matching and how to fix that but like you said one thing at a time.

system profile for network

ethernet:

Type: Ethernet Controller
Bus: PCI
Vendor ID: 0x10ec
Device ID: 0x8168
Subsystem Vendor ID: 0x1458
Subsystem ID: 0xe000
Revision ID: 0x0003
Link Width: x1
BSD name: en0
Kext name: RealtekRTL81xx.kext
Location: /System/Library/Extensions/RealtekRTL81xx.kext
Version: 0.0.67

Again your don't no what this means to me for all your help. My imac is in the shop and I need to get some work done before tomorrow or my boss won't be very happy with me lol.

Your profile says Onboard Graphics...in the forums and your post says you are using Diamond Radeon HD 5570 , it minimizes confusion if your hardware signature matches your actual hardware.

You used a DSDT with MultiBeast, did you make certain the BIOS version matches the DSDT you used?

Did you install a bootloader from MultiBeast? UserDSDT should install Chimera...

I think that I would have tried Lnx2Mac's RTL81xx package first. If you can't get the Realtek one working you could try to install Lnx2Macs after removing the Realtek.

I am very sorry for the mix up. I did update my profile to reflect my new hardware. I used the DSDT that matched my motherboards model number and my bios version "F7". As far as I no Multibeast put a boot loader in for me well it did because I get the boot screen it just won't boot without putting "cpus=1 PciRoot=0 in the command line. Well I can't say that it does not boot because what happens is the monitor loses connection and goes blank. The computer keeps doing something but since I can not see I have to reboot and use the above command. I not sure how to remove realtek but I did install Lnz2Mac's RTL81xx. It seems to work if I don't install the audio but when both are working the internet is very slow and downloads take days. System profiler reports my video as a ATI 5000 with 1gb ram and 32bit and seems to work fine but my model number is 5570. Getting the boot and networking working is more important i guess for now.

No apology, just trying to minimize confusion and get you to a solution faster.

If you delete RealtekALC8xx and install one of the VoodooHDA versions will that solve the audio and LAN issue?
