Sounds like a NICE board... has two Thunderbolt connectors

Would this board work well / be compatible with a Hackintosh build?

very nice choice unlike the asus mobos the dvi doesnt block the usb 3.0 ports and has the same asmedia host controler aka 1061/1040a the wireless is unsupported at this point so have a backup plan also the locked msr is easier to unlock than the asus mobos its also better than the gigabyte choices as they have the crapy marvell controller for sata and usb 3.0 also if using clover boot loader the locked msr wont be an issue as it will binary patch the appleintelcpumanagement kext a great build overall

pay no attention to the asus fanboys

the moderators just moderate the site.
for first hand opinions and feedback, we rely on, as mate94 said 'guinea pigs' for brand new hardware.

so youre gonna have to wait till someone else buys it, or bite the bullet and test.

other than that, looks like a good board.
asrock boards work well. the only thing (looking at past asrock uefi boards) that might be an issue is sleep not working oob, but that might not be the case with the z87 boards....we'll have to wait and see.

asus z87 dont appeal to me, even though asus was my go to brand. the gold colour scheme :sick:
and like stehor said, the bios is easier to flash on the asrock than the asus'.
 
btw samisnake sleep worked oob the only thing i changed in clover was darkwake=10 dart=0 usbinjector=false screen_resolution 1600x900 this only took 10 min to figure out as this may help fellow asrock builders.the usbinjection=false was to fix the dead usb on wake up this was before i had patches from pjalm/toleda

Thank you for the insight.

I was concerned because of an earlier post where mate94 said "Try to avoid it..." referring to this board. The 'guinea pig' comment didnt sit well with me either but now that you explained it... um... I suppose someone has to be the first

I have to agree about the Asus color scheme. Another reason I liked this board, nice colors except for the gold.

thats cool.
is there a work around with chameleon, or clover only?
 
this fix is for clover only chimera/or chameleon main branch had issues such as 64mb not working but 32mb does. 64mb only works with clover
