Hi, I really didn't want to ask for help, and I've tried everything I can to get this install working, but I haven't created a Hackintosh before, so I could definitely do with some help.

First up, I'm attempting this on a Dell Inspiron 15 7548, Intel Broadwell i7 5500U, AMD Radeon R7 M270 with a full 4K screen. From a specs point of view, I think it should be possible, but I'm also aware that the Broadwell might be a problem, along with the motherboard. The Dell Bios is painfully minimal, the only changes I can make are to disable "Secure Boot" and enable "Legacy". The HDD is already set to AHCI. But that's it.

I've created a Laptop compatable USB using Unibeast and the current version of Yosemite.

I can mount the USB from the Boot Options and select Yosemite. Using the verbose Boot-Flag it appears as tho everything loads correctly with no hiccups, however, upon starting Darwin x86_64 the screen simply goes black. I've tried a bunch of boot flag combinations all with the same result.

Any ideas what's causing the freeze? Or, is it simply not possible on this hardware.
Thanks!

Not a Desktop - Moved to Laptop Support.

Ah, Thanks a lot P1LGRIM!

There is no support for Broadwell CPUs/graphics in Yosemite. Apple is not using these CPUs yet.

Thanks for the info RehabMan. I guess I'll have to wait a while for a fix

Hey MikusP,

any news on the install front? I also just got myself this great laptop, installed arch right away but I'm actually really interested in knowing if I can get OsX up and running. Since now Apple sells Broadwell based laptops this should't be much of an issue anymore, have you tried anything?

You'll need to wait until Apple releases Yosemite supporting Broadwell.
