Hey guys,

I have a working 10.7.2 on my Asus G73SW (I7-2630QM/HM65, GTX460M) and i'm trying to reinstall it to yosemite, but after booting from USB I get the black screen after apple logo. (Prepared the USB with this tutorial inculding laptop support option http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...-x-yosemite-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html).

I have tried PCIRootUID=1 but that doesnt help.

Any ideas? Any more info needed?

Do you have only nvidia or both nvidia+Intel graphics? The difference is important.

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

No, i only have the GTX 460M card, no integrated intel hd. Any suggestions about the boot flags?

You will likely need at least: IGPEnabler=No GraphicsEnabler=Yes

You should also use google: "site:tonymacx86.com asus g73" or "site:insanelymac.com asus g73". You might dig up some useful information.

Running into the same problem with my g73sw

nivida gtx 460
I7 2630
12 gb ram installin the newest Yosemite...screen goes black

i have tried using the prompts pcirootuid=1 and 0 graphic enabler= yes and no -v and the commands listed above with no luck and a LOT of googling. If you find anything please let me know. I did see a link on the insanely mac site about updating the bios?

pcirootuid and graphicenabler are not valid flags. They are spelled correctly: PCIRootUID and GraphicsEnabler.

It is unlikely your PCI root is 1 (most DSDTs use 0).

Follow one of these guides:

You are correct..I sloppily put them in my post but I did have them entered into the command prompt spelled correctly with no luck. Thank you for your guides though, I will check them out! Thank you!!

Are using Clover, Chameleon or Chimera Bootloader? From my experience try this. Change your System Profile to 13,2 even though it should be 12,1 since your processor is Sandy Bridge 2nd generation that is the one in my opinion that works best for CPU Power Management. Change it to iMac13,2 and GraphcisEnabler=yes, and for Clover tick Nvidia injection. Let me know if that worked or not.

Edited:

I cannot place a link here to another forum but I got my Answer for the No Signal to Monitor. Just edit the plist in AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy\contents\info.plist, adding that code below, then replace your Board-ID with the one "Mac-94245A3940C91C80" as below, fix permissions, reboot without caches and that should resolve your signal to monitor.

Credits to PikerAlpha for the actual mod posted by the1door and to Oldnapalm for the link to the mod. I spent 2 or 3 weeks trying to figure out combinations in Clover and AGPM never thinking about AGDP. There may be a way to do this with some kind of Injector instead of modding anything in /S/L/E or possibly inject this in Clover Config. I'm investigating and testing now.

/S*/L*/E*/AppleGraphicsControl.kext/C*/P*/AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext/C*/Info.plist

Code:

[COLOR=#444444][FONT=Open Sans]<dict>[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#444444][FONT=Open Sans]<key>Mac-94245A3940C91C80</key>[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#444444][FONT=Open Sans]<string>none</string>[/FONT][/COLOR]
[COLOR=#444444][FONT=Open Sans]</dict>[/FONT][/COLOR][COLOR=#444444][FONT=Open Sans][FONT=inherit]

Give a try to just "GraphicsEnabler=Yes" only.
