Before you begin with either saying its not possible or writing random installation jargon like -v -s PCIRootUID or saying something thinking its simple but requires years of experience and knowledge to accomplish ... please just take it easy on us less fortunate to have your expertise. That being said, most who want to hackintosh has at least SOME programming or basic understanding of operating systems.

My understanding is that there is two problems when trying to install Yosemite to a machine running a g3258 on native intel graphics. The first is that Haswell is not supported on Yosemite yet. Second, is that the HD 4600 integrated graphics is not supported either.

The work arounds I have come across seems simple enough but there are no step by step simple enough to follow instructions to accomplish this.

Step one is to fake the CPU identification of a g3258 for a supported CPU that yosemite can recognize and utilize. This is done/explained here...

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/to...-on-a-pentium-g3258-or-other-unsupported-cpu/

But I believe (not sure because no one explains it) its now included in the generic yosemite install guide for clover found here...

http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-guides/144426-how-install-os-x-yosemite-using-clover.html

The second step is a similar process for intel integrated graphics where Yosemite is instructed to use the Intel 4600 graphics as another supported graphics unit. This involves a PCIID change not just a config.plist alternation. This is explained here,

http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...tel-hd4200-hd4400-hd4600-mobile-yosemite.html

My request is simple. Can someone please combine these installation instructions to write a simple step by step process to install yosemite on a g3258 haswell Pentium processor running integrated graphics. It would be a ton helpful to also include the modified files (ie config.plist, FakeCPUid, fakePCIID, and DSDT injection vs fakeid and platform-id) for clover installation. Anyone who understands this stuff well enough to be able to do it will be King in my book!

Thanks and sincerely,

Rico

Haswell CPUs are well supported on OS X, but you have a Haswell Pentium CPU and that it not suported on Mavericks/Yosemite natively.

As a solution of the above, you can use clover's Fake CPUID injection.
You can read more here : http://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration/KernelAndKextPatches

HD4600 Integrated Graphics is supported, but you have to use correct ig-platform id.

I don't have any Haswell Pentium CPUs, so couldn't write a Guide.
But if you doing the installation, might be i can help you to resolve the issues which you are facing.

Good Luck..!

I got it working using the outlined concepts above but I have another issue now.

Im at the YOsemite install screen and utilizing Disk Utility the Hard drive I want to install yosemite to is "read only" and greyed out. I can select partition one or format or delete or anything like that. Its not formatted at all - I basically went into the Windows installer and deleted all previous partitions.

What makes it worse is that for some reason my keyboard is really sensitive, when I press the "d" key once, 15 "d"s are pressed. I dont know why its giving me an issue.

Step 1. fix the hard drive so I can partition it, format it and install yosemite (any help would be appreciated)

Step 2. Fix the keyboad, if I can do that then I can format the hard drive using the terminal commands. Any help would be appreciated,

Thoughts? Thanks in advance

Rico

OK - managed to boot into Universal Boot CD 533 and format my 1tb hard drive into 2 partitions.

Partition 1 - 160gb Primary in HFS+
Partition 2 - 840 gb Primary in NTFS

Despite this, the yosemite installer is still not recognizing the drive.
Thoughts?

HFS+ is ok. But ensure that the drive partition scheme is GUID Partition Table (GPT). Otherwise you will fail to install Yosemite.

What is the problem you are facing with Disk Utility? Post a photo of the Disk Utility screen.
