Yosemite on Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD7 TH

Ive looked through the forums at post with similar builds to mine but i cant seem to get to the installation screen, it either freezes at the apple logo or goes to a white screen with a crossed out symbol similar to that of a "do not enter" sign

I have successfully installed 10.10.2 with your motherboard. My cpu is 4790k. Remove your graphics card and use the iGPU until you have everything setup.

I use these args to get into the install -x -v maxmem=4096 PCIRootUID=1

After installing boot into it using the same arguments. Install your drivers, then install Nvidia web driver. Then reinstall your gpu.
