Hello

This is my first hackintosh build and no matter what I do I can't seem to install OSX. I attempted to install Snow Leopard first but I couldn't get to the install screen there. I tried every method and boot flag I could think of, nothing worked.

Frustrated, I borrowed a friends computer and tried to create a UniBeast USB to boot from, which seemed extremely straight forward. I followed the x99 temp guide for UniBeat and no luck. I always got stuck on "PCI Configuration Begin".

I tried clover. Similar issues with clover. Can't get to install screen.

I have tried every single guide I could find regarding the appropriate boot flags, and I've all of them I've found in different combinations.

There are reports of people with my same motherboard having success, but not people with my same motherboard and CPU and graphics card. (Yes, I did try disabling the nvidia driver.)

Can anyone shed some light on what's going on? Why do I always hang on the PCI config screen?

Is there a special patch I'm supposed to be installing for my PC? The one on the temp guide looks like it might be for 6 core processes only. I have added the voodoo kext to every USB I've created.

I'm just so confused. Is this because I used ECC ram? Is this because of my Thunderbolt card? My wifi card came recommended from this site as mac compatible.

Someone please show me where to start looking please. :)

Thanks much

I'm sure I'm mistaken, but from the way you wrote things it looks almost like you don't own a legal/purchased copy of OS X to be building a machine with.

Anyway, if you expect anyone to be able to help you'll need to - at the very least - let them know what hardware you're trying to install on. Without that information there's no way to understand what the problem is.

ETA: I just noticed that you do have some of your hardware info in shorthand in the title of the thread.

Try bootflags which are required for overcoming your issues instead of trying all the boot flags. It will give better result.

As you are stuck in "PCI Configuration Begin",
You have to try booting with "npci=0x3000" or "npci=0x2000" along with "PCIRootUID=1"
And check each time of try whether you are passing the "PCI Configuration Begin" or not.

Thanks. My options aren't selectable in the profile thing.

The boot flags you suggested did not get me past PCI Configuration Begin. :(

Set your graphics card as your primary video adapter in BIOS. Then try to boot with,

"npci=0x2000 or "npci=0×3000" along with "dart=0 cpus=1 nv_disable=1 -v -f"

Wow. I have no idea if the dart=0 or cpus=1 was the one that did it, but I'm installing OSX now!

Does this mean I will have to boot with these flags also?

THANK YOU SO MUCH

Complete the install then boot only with "dart=0 nv_disable=1 GraphicsEnabler=No"

If again issues are appearing then have to use another flags too. If any flag you want to use permanently you can add them in your bootloader. So no need of typing it every boot.

After successfully installing OSX I installed clover as detailed on this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjMXkB2wMWE

And was no longer able to boot into OSX.

I then tried to boot from USB again and I can't get into OSX past the login screen. I enter in my password and I just get a spinny pinwheel. What the hell?

Did I miss a step? ;(

So apparently it's not possible yet to boot with clover and my motherboard. I wiped the drive clean and installed using Chimera and then followed up with Multibeast but now I can't get it to boot at all. I tried using the same boot flags, and I set up with the "Easy Setup" and the 8 core kext.

Attached screenshot. Any advice?
