Hello all,

Yosemite is up and running and has been now for about a week or so. I installed as a completely fresh install, wiped my partition and booted from unibeast flash drive. Everything is functionally working, but there's still two issues and one weird boot/shutdown quirk I can't figure out.

Issue #1-
USB 3.0 not working, period, whatever I try. Just followed this guide with no success at all with any of the ideas for help:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...-ga-z77x-ud5h-tips-yosemite-vs-usb-3-0-a.html

Issue #2-
iCloud/AppStore actually let me sign in and everything worked great the first time I booted up, the only thing that didn't work was iMessage. But a few boots later I went to check something in the appstore and I was signed out and CANT sign back in. I even deleted my iCloud account from my computer and tried to re-add the account but can't. It just tells me I can't sign in at this time.
I've followed this guide in the past which worked, but not this time.

And lastly, I CANNOT boot without the -v flag, so I always have to boot verbose. If I let my computer try to restart go through Chimera without hitting -v I'll get stuck on a "waiting for root device" line. As long as I type -v it boots. But no matter what if I shut down from Yosemite, I get a kernel panic. So I have to hold my power button to power down and restart. Very frustrating.

Any help would be great.

Board is a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 running in UEFI.

I have the same board and BIOS. The "waiting for root device" error came up for me as well and I had to delete "AHCI_3rdParty_SATA.kext" from S/L/E and was able to get past it on subsequent boots. I did upgrade from Mavericks so you may not have that kext at all. Another kext known to cause errors like this is "GenericUSBXHCI.kext".

My USB3 though does work and I have
GenericUSBXHCI.kext and I boot fine with either Clover or Chimera. I recommend you try rehab man's version of GenericUSBXHCI.kext here:

On a side note, I am on my 3rd replacement board from Gigabyte as the rear USB3 ports (the ones right on the board) keep dying on me and they're dead AGAIN right now. :banghead: My front USB ports from the motherboard header do work.

I can't help you with the Appstore errors though, runs fine for me but little consolation to you.

Good luck!
