Hey everyone i am a film editor and i want to say again this forum is awsome. Got my system up and running with minimal installation.
My current Specs are:
X58A-UD3R 2.0 Bios: FE
i7 950
DSDT From database and edited with Tony's Gt 240 edit.
6 GB 1333 mhz ram.
EVGA Geforce GT 240 1GB.
27" Samsung Display.

Now im running in 1920 x 1080p and i dont do much gaming at all. I will be doing some after effects and motion and am currently going to invest in another samsung 27 inch. My question is do i need a new GPU? If i do what do you recommend? Preferably one where the installation is easy and wont require me to wipe my drive and reinstall if i really don't have to.
Thanks,
Sam

AMD Radeon 5770, had a GTS 450 caused nothing but trouble, RMA,d it and purchased Gigabytes 5770, no problems what so ever either graphicly or installation, install ATI Experimental from multibeast, shutdown, install your card, reboot, thats all there is to it and runs 64bit without hassle.
Stay away from 4xx 5xx series Nvidia cards, it does seem like Apple is gearing towards AMD Radeon anyway, their new line of MBP,s use it.

Depend on your software. If you software use CUDA stay away from ATi :).

Alright thanks. So i should get a gigabyte 5770?
There are 2 by gigabyte one using pci sxpress 2.1. Will either of them work because one is faster.
One i want:

Other one for same price but not as good:

I have the one in your second link (Batmobile) which ever one is better go for it, same price after all.
