I want to update to 10.6.7 to take advantage of the ATI drivers, but I dont want to use the MacBook update method. Can I do the following?

Update via software update to 10.6.7, then use MultiBeast to install the new ATI drivers, Then disable VideoEnabler=YES.

Will that work? Or do I need to do it via the SandyBridge update with MacBook Pro definitions.

Well I tried it, 10.6.7 installed without any problems, so did the ATI kexts from Multibeast. But when I rebooted with GraphicsEnabler=No my monitor started to enter and exit sleep mode over and over.

How can I check the device ID of my video card?
