Gigabyte Radeon 6870 Dual Link DVI?

I'm considering purchasing one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Achieva-ShiMian ... 1c265a008e but am worried because you need to be able to use dual link dvi to take advantage of the insane resolution on that monitor. I know the bottom dvi connector is dual link on this card but whenever I try to use it while in Lion I get a black screen. If I plug it in from when I first boot the machine though it'll show until it gets to the end of the apple loading screen then goes black. Is there any way I can make use of this output on the card in Lion or would I have to get a whole new card? Thanks in advance.

I'm also curious about this matter. If I recall correctly, there was a get around on this that I saw on youtube.
