Last night I updated mu OSX install for 10.6.2 to 10.6.3 using iboot and the latest multi beast and so far it has been a mistake. I have a P55M-UD2 just like Tony (did that for a reason). Here are the steps that I performed to update and to try and correct the issues (Note I am using the latest DSDT and F8 firmware):
1) Installed 10.6.3 (did not reboot)
2) Re-Installed 10.6.2 Audio fix and updated audio kexts (like I did in the original install)
3) Repaired permissions
4) Rebooted (no sound)
5) Re installed 10.6.3 and tried the Voodoo option
6) Removed all the other legacy kexts
7) Repaired permissions
8) Rebooted no sound
9) Removed Kexts and installed the other Voodoo kext in the installer
10) Repaired permissions
11) Rebooted the system
12) Major Crash on restart
13) Rebooted with –x and removed the Voodoo kexts
14) Repaired permissions
15) Reinstalled 10.6.3
16) Re-Installed 10.6.2 Audio fix and updated audio kexts (like I did in the original install)
17) Repaired permissions
18) Rebooted (no sound)
That is were I stand today…. Any thoughts???
Thanks,
