Herein is the installation process used to install OS 10.10.1 and apply an “overclocking feature” on the B85M-D3H motherboard. The results of the operation of the B85m motherboard are very satisfactory for a low cost motherboard operating without the use of an add-on video card. The overclocking of the mobo yielded a stable 64-bit Geekbench Score of 18049. Although not described in this report, another installation using a different SSD and a higher overclocking frequency resulted in a stable Geekbench Score of 18432 thus revealing the performance possibilities of the
B85M-D3H mobo.

INSTALLATION
Initial connections to the computer consisted of one monitor, keyboard, mouse, four 4GB rams, and USB powered stereo speakers.

Software used were OS 10.10.1 and UniBeast 5.0.2 and MultiBeast 7.1.1 from tonymacx86.com. OS 10.10.1 was installed on a 8GB flash drive per the procedure in tonymacx86.com > Guides > 10.10 installation steps 1 and 2. After installation of OS 10.10.1 on the flash drive, MultiBeast Yosemite Edition 7.1.1 zip file was then transferred onto the same flash drive.

BIOS (Version F12) Adjustments (press delete key after startup to display BIOS):
Initially, three adjustments were applied to the B85M-D3H mobo. Overclocking was done at the conclusion of the installation of OS 10.10.1.
MIT > Advanced Frequency Settings > Extreme Memory Profile (X,M,P) > select Profile1
(default=Disabled)
BIOS Features > Fast Boot > select Enabled (Default=Disabled)

4...Continue install > agree to software > select SSD YOSEMITE image > continue
(installation will take about 8 minutes followed by a restart. If stalling occurs as indicated by
an unmovable mouse pointer then repeat step 4 using -x on the restart.
5 After restart select SSD YOSEMITE image and follow instructions on subsequent displays.
Following the display of Yosemite > click Finder > Preference > click Hard Drive to display
SSD image on right side of screen.
6...Click System Preferences to make adjustments as needed to Security & Privacy (to activate
Firewall), Energy Saver, mouse scroll direction, etc....

10...If installation is satisfactory, load Geekbench 3.2.2 and activate. In my installation, the
Geekbench score was 17091 at a CPU frequency of 4.39 GHz. I next proceeded to
overclock the B85M-D3H motherboard as follows:
Restart computer and press delete or F2 key until BIOS appears
Select MIT > Advanced Frequency Settings > CPU Upgrade > i7-4770k CPU 4.5 GHz (
default=auto) > press F10 to save configuration and exit or restart. Finished

Overclocked Geekbench Score Summary (Geekbench 3.2.2 for Mac OS X x86 (64-bit)
4524 (Single-Core Score) 18049 (Multi-Core Score)

A higher CPU frequency of 4.6 GHz was attempted giving a Geekbench Score of 18418 but
the computer often stalled at startup.

11 ..It is noted that audio is lost after computer is reactivated following sleep. To remedy this
either restart computer or follow procedures found at tonymacx86.com.

Hi.

Could you please post more information about Vcore? I want to OC my 4790K. Actually I'm running under 4.0GHz, without Turbo at 1.15 Vcore and 1.55Vrim. I have the stock cooler. Of course I will not OC until I buy some decent one. I'm thinking about the H80i. Anyway, my question about the Vcore is because the Vcore from stock was 1.56 and i think that it was pretty hight from just 4Ghz.

Thank you.
