Hello, I used the newest version of unibeast to create a usb drive with the yosemite downloaded from the mac store. I am wanting to restore my time machine backup to a fresh drive. But when I follow the tutorials to start the install and go to utilities, the restore option is not there. I see the other options, but that one is missing. How can I get the restore option in the menu?

Thanks,

James

Thanks for offering insight. But I was able to do it. You can in fact restore a time machine to a clean drive. But for some reason the Yosemite Unibeast install had the restore time machine option missing. I went and made a mavericks unibeast USB install disk and the option to restore was there and I restored from my time machine backup to the bare drive and now everything works perfectly again after a failed upgrade to yosemite.

same here... Now I have to keep two flash drives - one with 10.10 and another with 10.9 for TimeMachine recovery. Original 10.10 flash drive on my macbook has TM option, so it must be somewhere in Unibeast.

So I can use other unibeast installations with TM (10.9 Mavricks) to restore SSD with 10.10 Yosemite?

Dear friend, we are all experiencing this same problem. I wish the Tonymac, MacMan, Toleda help us solve. As you said and I agree, we could accomplish with the version of unibeast for Mavericks to restore to the time machine. Please Tonymac, MacMan, Toleda help us. Thank you in advance to all. Excuse my English, I'm from Brazil - Rio de Janeiro.

If that feature is missing in Yosemite created UniBeast sticks it has to be because Apple removed it from the images they are shipping in the Install Yosemite application. The code is the same for Mavericks and Yosemite installations. UniBeast doesn't remove anything from what Apple provides.

Closed, Apple issue, not UniBeast.

A quick google led me here to this thread. I've been trying to update my hack to Yosemite and have tried both Clover and Unibeast. The Clover USB boot drive has the restore from Time Machine and the Unibeast installer doesn't. It's not in the drop down Utilities menu, but the first dialog box in the Clover USB drive has the 4 options: Restore from Time Machine, Install OS X, Get Help Online, and Disk Utility. It seems like Unibeast skips over this dialog box and goes straight to the install dialog box.

I was hoping to load a working Unibeast install after getting frustrated with Clover, and noticed this option wasn't available via Unibeast. I made the install drives from the same install app on my macbook pro.

Sorry if this has already been figured out, but I'm pretty puzzled. My 10.9 Unibeast drive has this option. I'll just do a clean Unibeast install......

Answer is here http://www.tonymacx86.com/unibeast/...e-machine-option-utilites-2-a.html#post968265
in short
Code:
/System/Installation/CDIS/Time\ Machine\ System\ Restore.app/Contents/MacOS/Time\ Machine\ System\ Restore
I thought this thread is closed, so I put it elsewhere.
