Exciting news from Anandtech yesterday, AMD announced new Zen 3 chips for their refusing to go away AM4 platform. A Ryzen 7 5700X3D and two new APUs, 5500GT and 5600GT.

Strange decision by AMD considering they are rumoured to be looking at discontinuing the Vega APU drivers!

Do you think they’re just renamed 5000G APUs, with slightly higher clocks?. It wouldn’t be the first time AMD repurposed their CPUs!. Either way, I think it’s smart of them to keep taking advantage of the cheaper AM4 chipsets.

Yes, these CPU’s are probably ones that failed the QA testing, hence the lower speed, only 7 x Vega cores and no option for overclocking.

As you said it is good that they are still offering affordable/low cost CPU/APU’S from the R5000 Series.
