Hi
I have at last - after much trial and error - manged to get a running Snow Leopard (10.6.3) install with sound, wifi via a rather ancient Edimax usb thing - on my rather ancient Presario laptop. Bearing in mind this has only 1GB of memory it's surprisingly sprightly.
I have tried - using the install guide - twice to get the combo update installed but in both cases after running MultiBeast (3.10.1) and reboot. It hangs at PCI Configuration.
In the guide to the update on the legacy blog it says 'If your system is stalling in verbose mode on [ PCI configuration begin ], install the IOPCIFamily FIX available in MultiBeast 3.8.0' and running a Google search the IOPCIFamily fix is the key. However this fix - at least by that name - does not seem to be available in MB 3.10.1. Therefore
The second part of my query is how can I save what I have, it's running nicely - so I can rollback to it rather than reinstall if the combo update goes wrong again.
I assume this is old hat to most users but as a newbie it's baffling me.
Many many thanks.

- Is it actually still there but the name is not the same or it's just part of EasyBeast
- If it isn't is there a way of applying it manually - i.e. a download to do it (a kext I'd guess) or an edit to the plist
