Greetings,
If press a key at the disk selection point, a "boot:" promot appears. What is it for?
Also, is there complete iBoot documentation somewhere that would this?
Thanks

Thats a very good question - and I dont think its ever been asked and may never get answered - but the most basic of explations is that it a name for a Boot loader - which by design is files and coded instructions that instruct a CPU - memory - and IO - to set itself up for specific settings and to get ready to accept some additional command or files to follow.
Think of it as a really obnoxious ALARM CLOCK and your asleep - and Bang - your awake - thats what a bootloader does.
You know you in that fog between slumber and OMG I gotta get to work.
If you have ever worked on a Digital Computer Comany - PDP8/11 you would know this ...LOL - where each instruction had to be enterd from the 32 key switches about 108 times ( exactly ) on the front pannel of that dinosour. This was way before we have ROMS to contain that instructions and we could just press a button.
And I am not sure their is much documentation - but you could look at the OSX86.net to see if they have information -
Also some alterative site for seaching for infomation outside of Google of course.

Now as far as what Commands are available - their we have information, see these links,
Something usefull about command line switchs one needs to know ! This is from 2008 some of these have changed but it still a good read,

Using Google - Common boot options for Chimera, Chameleon, iBoot, and Unibeast
this should get you to a site that has a lot if information - we are not allowed to list it to to policy rules and regs but - Google will get you their.
