DVD Mac OS X Snow Leopard

I have a notebook and a desktop. In my desktop I will buy a Mac OS X Snow Leopard in the apple store and I intend to update to Maverick.
My question is: If I want instal mac os in mu notebook, I need buy another Mac OS X Snow Leopard?
