I think this issue has nothing to do with voltages or any other BIOS settings. During the boot process, OS X checks to see what processor is installed, and when it sees a 4.4GHz processor it throws a fit and refuses to accept it. There must be some kind of known/accepted processor list and...
I had sleep problems too, I resolved them by disabling Wake On LAN in the BIOS. I think it's under the Power Management tab. Once I did that, waking up from sleep worked perfectly. I'm using MacPro 3,1 but it shouldn't make a difference.
I didn't have that problem, although I have a feeling it may be the same problem as iMessage not working. Have you tried using iMessage? To get it working, you have to install FileNVRAM.dylib. You want to download version 1.1.2 and copy it into /Extra/modules on the boot drive then reboot...
Ah makes sense, of course. I found a thread which seems to do exactly what you're asking. Perhaps you've already seen it, if not here it is :

I don't really understand why someone would use sound from their graphics card, I certainly haven't tried it. I use USB speakers and also an external USB headphone DAC which work well. My Intel HDA audio works fine although I don't use it.
dougoftheabaci, yes my top USB ports work just fine. Obviously you have to connect them up to one of the USB 3.0 headers on the motherboard. I have two USB 3.0 headers on my board, and I connected to the first one as it was the closest physically.
I am using the first 5 of my internal SATA...
rav3l0, I didn't make any of those changes you described. Then again, I installed OS X using my GTX 770 card. I didn't disable the onboard graphics however. I'm assuming you have loaded optimized defaults? I can see that changing Init Display First to onboard graphics would make sense for...
Alex, I'm running Mavericks 10.9.1. When I installed the OS, I installed Mavericks 10.9 as that was the latest version at the time. I upgraded to 10.9.1 when the update came out with no issues. If you download Mavericks from the App Store today, it will be version 10.9.1, so that would be my...
I'm not sure what you are talking about. The new BIOS is not intended to throttle the GPU down, it merely allows the fans to run at a lower speed. It also allows you to increase the power for the GPU up to 110%. This is only in Windows obviously using EVGA's Precision X software. In OS X you...
For those of you who are interested, my new graphics card has arrived and I am pleased to report it works just as I was hoping. I swapped out my EVGA GTX 770 02G-P4-2774-KR for an EVGA GTX 770 04G-P4-3774-KR. Both cards are EVGA's superclocked (SC) version, but the new card has 4GB RAM instead...
On my build I increased the base multiplier from 35 (default) to 43, and left all the core multipliers set to Auto. In OS X's "About This Mac" it now reports a speed of 4.3 GHz. In HWMonitor in OS X it reports 800 MHz when idle (this is Intel's SpeedStep kicking in) and then goes up to 4.3 GHz...
I don't see why it wouldn't be capable of editing 1080p video, although that's not something I do myself. The CPU I'm sure is fast enough and stability-wise it has been flawless. Speaking of stability though, I have realized that when you are building your own machine there can be numerous...
I agree the Windows 8 UI is awful, but you can change some settings to make it look like "normal" Windows. Mine now boots up to a lock/login screen, then goes straight to the desktop.
Frankint0sh, do you mean Snow Leopard or Mavericks? I have never tried to install Snow Leopard and I think it may require a different/older version of UniBeast and/or MultiBeast. Mavericks was my first hackintosh install and the only thing I've tried. You have the same motherboard as me, so if...
warbital, you have inspired me to change my graphics card/spend more money! It occurred to me that it is still eligible for return with Amazon, so I have ordered
http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Superclocked-Dual-Link-Graphics-04G-P4-3774-KR/dp/B00E5AEIKE
and will return my current card. It's...
Everything I read suggested that 4GB would bring no real benefit, I think 2GB is plenty. I wanted to get the GTX 780 but the new revision was starting to show up just around the time I was looking to order. So I didn't take the risk and went with the GTX 770 instead.
I would say this...
Sure, I've run some benchmarks. On Geekbench 3 (64-bit) I have 4328 for single-core and 17153 for multi-core. On Cinebench R15, I have 866 for the CPU test, 171 for the CPU single-core test and 104.57 for the OpenGL test. These results are all with overclocking at 4.3 GHz. I'd like to try a...
I believe so yes, although I should say I do not own any USB 3.0 devices. When I had the MultiBeast USB 3.0 kext installed, even inserting a USB key would on occasion crash the entire system. Once I removed the kext, anything I plugged in worked as expected. I see the USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Bus...
It was really just a combination of googling and searching this forum. I found a post where disabling Wake on LAN had fixed the sleep issue for someone, then again I found another post where it had not fixed it. So I decided I would try it (it's always best just to change one setting at a time...
