Hi Complx, what is the base version of the BIOS you used, I am building a new box with the same MB and CPU but keep getting stuck at either "you need to hold the power down button" screen or the "waiting for root device"
Thanks
In the BIOS setup, you need to pick different memory buffer settings, since you're using the HD3000. See this thread:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php ... 13#p209913
And I think you would also need to select Chimera 1.6 rxxxx (xxxx is some number I don't recall) from multibeast
ok. got it to work.
Put DSDT.aml on the desktop
Ran multi beast with only UserDSDT install, system utilities, the 2 audio options (ACL8xxHDA and AppleHDA Rollback) and the network driver (Lnx2Mac's Real....) plus OSx86software. that's all I checked.
Built-in audio works, network works...
I have the same motherboard, down rev'ed to F6 from F8.
However, instead of Radeon cards, I have an ASUS EN210 1 GB DDR3 graphic card. After running multi beast and starting the box from the HDD, I kept getting KP'ed
I looked at the original poster's screenshot of multi beast and and I have a...
Yeah. Just did the swap. i5-2500K works. It boots fine without safe mode. Audio works. Apple website's video plays. The only thing is youtube videos still don't play. Must be some flash thingy.
thanks, all.
I am using the uniBeast USB stick method. I cannot get it to work unless I put in the "-x" option at boot time. If I don't use the "-x" option, the USB boot will hang at the white background/gray apple screen for about 10 minutes and then KP.
I used the -x option, did the install, ran...
yes, I tried that already. It got to the white apple screen and then the screen went dark at the point when I would normally see the desktop.
The box is still running because I can access it remotely.
So I think I just need to make some tweak to some plist file but I don't know which file to...
Hi:
I originally connected a VGA monitor to the video card that supported both D-sub (VGA) output and DVI output, while building my hackintosh
Now I want to change the display to DVI.
Which file should I edit/modify and how ?
Appreciate the help in advance....
Pretty much followed the instructions laid down by tonymac.
0. Remove 4 GB of RAM (make it 4 GB) and boot computer
1. Ran the 10.6.8 combo. But encountered KP toward the end (didn't finish)
2. Rebooted the box. The boot process got to the part where the white apple screen was about to...
thanks.
next question: what are the differences between iboot-legacy and the current version of iboot ? I'm asking this question because I can get beyond the Apple white screen and onto the install page with iboot-legacy but I keep getting stuck on the white screen with iboot.
I have an MSI...
Hi:
Is there a place to download older versions of multibeast and bridge helpers and other tools ? I'm looking for versions of multibeast that's compatible with the the posted iboot-legacy.
Thanks in advance.
OK. Removed 4 GB of RAM (now it has only 4). Booted from iboot-legacy. Sound, mouse, video, internet all work beautifully.....
One more test: booting without iboot-legacy.... NFG
Will stick with booting from iboot-legacy for a bit until I figure out what to do....
More research
No joy. Even with the USB speaker, the sound is still very choppy, basically useless.
The video is kind of crappy too.
One more thing to try. Remove 4 GB of RAM, boot off iboot-legacy and see what happens. In the past, booting off iboot-legacy results in much smoother mouse actions.
basically, what I did was to follow this instruction, with the following exceptions:
http://lifehacker.com/#!5672051/how-to- ... easy-steps
1. Following your example, I used iboot-legacy
2. I ignored the upgrade to 10.6.4 and just stick with 10.6.3
3. Also used Bridgehelper 1.1.0
Then after...
I actually got it to work without the iboot-legacy.
What I did was a straight 10.6.3 retail SL DVD, using the iboot-legacy.
Then, I did the Sandy Bridge (1.1.0) fix and EasyBeast (3.3.0) only. I noticed that later versions of these packages don't work.
I have 8 GB of RAM so after...
well, you're luckier than I am. I have the same motherboard and CPU and video card (ok, the video card is an ASUS bastardized version). And I struggled for hours trying to get beyond the white screen with an apple part. Then I stumbled upon your thread. So I used the boot-legacy and for the...
