Well, I can't get the above to work so I'm gonna try to rebrand it. (It doesn't work OOB on the PCI-Mini PCI adapter and no one can help).
Can anyone tell me which is the device ID code to use (I want the ability to use wireless N).?
Better still, I'm gonna try to do an IOREG GREP thingie on...
Please tell us if this works. I bought the same card on ebay with the mini-PCI-e adapter and it is not working under 10.6.8. Targeting the Atheros card.
I thought the iMac has the 9280 (2 antenna connection). Better check properly before buying. Cannot imply there is backward compatibility just because it is a latter card.
As the other have said, get on ebay.
Just a note. I tried the BCM4322 chip card (A Dell DW1502) minicard on the same PCI adaptor and it is not recognised automatically in 10.6.8. For the moment I would advise you to get the 4321 card.
If you still want Ethernet, just get a TP-Link PCI Ethernet...
Found this on the Net:
"iFixit found that the main chips on the computer’s mini-PCIe wireless card included a Broadcom BCM4322 Intensi-fi Single-Chip 802.11 Transceiver, and a Broadcom BCM20702 Single-Chip Bluetooth 4.0 Processor with Bluetooth Low Energy Support. Both the new MacBook Airs and...
It may be a long time before we can (ever) get the 4322 with the ID 4357 to work. I don't think you can get the 4322 to be 'backward' compatible with 4321. (Mistake on my part when buying the card).
For those that want to get wireless working, I suggest you get the 4321 not the 4322 card on...
I'm using a Sata Samsung DVD drive identified as TSST Corp SH-223C.
My problem is that occasionally, OSX (currently 10.6.8 but also experienced with previous versions. Happened with a Lite-on drive I had previously as well) will loose this drive after burning a disc or after encountering an...
Ok, tinkering for days without success with my wireless after 10.6.8.
Did an IOReg probe and it turned out my Dell DW1520/BCM4322 is being detected by IOReg as 4357:
pci14e4,4357@0 <class IOPCIDevice, id 0x1000001a3, registere$

I have the BCM4322 on a pci-e card. Works under Win7.
The BCM4322 is not defined under 10.6.8's IO80211Family.kext (In AppleAirportBrcm43224.kext) compared with 10.6.7. However, adding <string>pci14e4,4322</string> doesn't seem to work. Maybe I'm just naive. :-)
Changing over to the 10.6.7...
Tried the following and still didn't work:
1) Apple80211monitor.bundle from 10.6.7
2) Taking out my PCI ethernet card
3) Broadcom43xxFamilyrev2.kext
4) Boot with npci=0x2000
I have the BCM4322 mini-pci with the pci-e adapter setup but I can't get it to work with 10.6.8.
(The above works under Win7 after installing the driver. Win7 doesn't autoinstall the driver for this)
Any help for getting the 4322 to work under 10.6.8?
Thanx
My Broadcom 4322 is not being detected automatically.
Browsing into the IO80211Family.kext I notice that the 4322 in not defined in AppleAirPortBrcm43224.kext or AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext.
Was just wondering whether editing the .plist as per
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index. ...
I upgraded to 10.6.8 and then decided to install a Broadcom 4322 Wifi card via a PCI adapter.
My Ethernet is via a PCI card (OSX compatible and working well. Onboard Gigabyte EP45-UD3L network got damaged in a lightning strike).
kext from IOPCIFamily-Fixed.zip installed as part of the 10.6.8...
I guess it is no longer needed. I think it got put there (/Extra) at the start of the SL installation in the days I was using 9500GT and my upgraded GT240 was still 'new' and was a renamed card.
So I gather with the GT240 I just need Chimera and GraphicsEnabler=Yes?
I'm using a Gigabyte GT240 with 10.6.8 and dual screen works from DVI and VGA outputs. Have not tried HDMI yet.
So far no artifacts apart from very minor one with weather widget that disappears. Previous 10.6.5 had some occasional artifacts with the buttons when opening the drive icons. I think...
OK. Decided to go back to the DSDT method so reflash my EP45-UD3L to F9.
To get the sound to work, I just had to patch the DSDT with the ALC888 stuff and bingo!
Now has 10.6.8 and sound.
I did not have to do the Multibeast stuff to get sound.
Background: Running 10.6.7 fine with dual screen. System is Gigabyte EP45-UD3L with Catri bios. Sound was using Bansaku's modded AppleHDA from 10.6.5 and its accompanying HDAenabler. LegacyHDA in /E/E.
Update procedure:
As per tonymacx86 thread.
1) Removed the ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext...
Looking back at some postings it seems there is still a bit of problem getting the Nvidia GT 240 working for some people. Anyhow this is my setup:
com.apple.boot.plist:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN"...
