Jays MonkeyBook Pro - The Ultimate Sony VPC-SE CustoMac Build

I'm currently using EDID swapped version of Jays DSDT, which has been working perfectly with everything for ages now. Cant be bothered messing around patching my own again, especially as I think it will end up pretty much the same. So people trying to get their SA/SB trackpads working could...

Jays MonkeyBook Pro - The Ultimate Sony VPC-SE CustoMac Build

To be fair, all of these models are known to share the exact same bios, and hence the exact same DSDT. I've been involved in the past with bios modding on these laptops, and its definitely all the same. The panels could possibly vary, but I'd be surprised. From the threads I had a while back...

Jays MonkeyBook Pro - The Ultimate Sony VPC-SE CustoMac Build

The guide is more intended for those experienced with hackintoshing. Its referring to a number of useful tools, I use http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/253395-kext-wizard-easy-to-use-kext-installer-and-more/ over kext utility, but they do the same job...

Jays MonkeyBook Pro - The Ultimate Sony VPC-SE CustoMac Build

Heres some DSDTs with correct EDIDs for SA/SB users. Pretty sure EDIDs will be the exact same for everyone based on my old threads. With the correct DSDT for your screen resolution the guide should work perfectly fine. You can skip the airport related kext if you don't need it, and you can...

Jays MonkeyBook Pro - The Ultimate Sony VPC-SE CustoMac Build

Shouldn't do. I fixed that in the version I posted. I don't know if its a bug that exclusively effects the SA/SB trackpad model though, so the "fix" may add the problem if it wasn't present already.

Jays MonkeyBook Pro - The Ultimate Sony VPC-SE CustoMac Build

I'm pretty confused reading this thread to be honest. I swapped in my EDID into Jays DSDT, and am currently using a build of rehabman's PS2 kexts from the alps branch, (https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller/tree/bpedman_merge) with a tiny fix I added for the inverted momentum...

Jays MonkeyBook Pro - The Ultimate Sony VPC-SE CustoMac Build

I guess its so I can have both the keyboard shortcuts I'd like and the swipe gestures. I have the startup script active I think, but it doesnt seem to stick, at least in UI. Not a big concern for now I guess. Nothings helping there. I'll have a poke around the source, the initial test...

Jays MonkeyBook Pro - The Ultimate Sony VPC-SE CustoMac Build

Ok, everythings working great on the SA for me now, including the alps trackpad drivers. (using the Rehabman merge version from http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2545-new-touchpad-driver-for-e6520-alps/) Some remarks: 1.) Sleep seems to take a really long time to happen. I...

Jays MonkeyBook Pro - The Ultimate Sony VPC-SE CustoMac Build

Its definitely installed, I selected it in multibeast and its present in /S/L/E Ok scratch that. It seems somehow multibeast installed just the plugins and not the rest of fakeSMC. Or maybe I just screwed up there. I'll reinstall now :L

Jays MonkeyBook Pro - The Ultimate Sony VPC-SE CustoMac Build

I've been attempting to test things out again on my SA, and for some reason I cant even get a booting install. After installing, copying over most of your kexts (minus ones for wifi) etc, I reboot and get stuck at waiting for DSMOS with a bit of debug output after that. Strange, as I've never...

Jays MonkeyBook Pro - The Ultimate Sony VPC-SE CustoMac Build

First of all: Jaymonkey, thanks for this thread. I've since got a new laptop, and also pretty much abandoned trying to run a hackintosh due to lack of time these days, so this should be helpful for the occasional person who tries to contact me still. With SA/SB support for the alps trackpad...

Battery Manager with Fix for Boot without Batteries

Works great! Thanks a bunch. On an unrelated issue, do you have any idea why (with that DSDT) the laptop does some reaaallly weird things: On boot, (before login screen, after apple logo + spinner) chance of black screen, nothing happening. Also at the same point chance of "sleep loop"...

Battery Manager with Fix for Boot without Batteries

@RehabMan I'm trying to get your kext working on my sony laptop (VPCSA), but I'm really not sure whats going on in my laptops DSDT with battery. I've got 16bit battery registers, so I know they need to change to 8bit, but then I cant see where/how the registers are updated, so I don't know if...

[GUIDE] Mac OS 10.8 on Sony Vaio SA/SB/SE

And thats a sure way to make a really stable install unstable. Seriously, how many times do you open about this mac in a day? a week? a year? I don't think I've ever thought "Oh darn, it totally sucks that I cant open about this mac right now" Just to clarify why it doesn't work: Our...

[GUIDE] Mac OS 10.8 on Sony Vaio SA/SB/SE

Please read the issues list, its a known issue, cant fix it until an upstream bug is fixed. About battery... Well, its always been an issue, and was frequently discussed in the old thread. I'm really not sure what to do about it, as there seems to be no fix that works for everyone. I will try...

[GUIDE] Mac OS 10.8 on Sony Vaio SA/SB/SE

This is just caused by the difference in keyboard layout between windows and mac. I created a layout for British users, which is in my pack, using ukelele http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&id=ukelele . Its a bit tricky to use, but once you've edited your keyboard layout...

[GUIDE] Mac OS 10.8 on Sony Vaio SA/SB/SE

Does ML boot with "UseKernelCache=No" ? if so, you might need to use the IOAHCIFamily kext from my pack, if you haven't installed it already. And the intel 4000 needs kexts from ML to work with lion, so its probably best to just focus on ML.

[GUIDE] Mac OS 10.8 on Sony Vaio SA/SB/SE

Actually, to make things easier, you could try following this http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-lion-desktop-support/61216-10-8-how-enable-hd4000.html which uses EFI device properties injection instead, and then once you find the right id, I can add it to the DSDT @yuanhaoliang Yes, the...

[GUIDE] Mac OS 10.8 on Sony Vaio SA/SB/SE

Updated the pack to 0.8.1, added the old AppleHDA kexts from 10.7.4, they work perfectly but its not a very nice solution, so I'm working on patching the new AppleHDA. I've also added a line to the DSDT which seems to get the display brightness restoring after sleep, which is nice (it seems...
