Both those questions are already answered in this thread... The Bluetooth is an SABrent 2.0 which "works" but not perfectly. iMac because the Haswell is much more like an iMac than Mac Pro. Good luck with your build!
I installed the 6.01 Multibeast update and downgraded the ethernet driver. I also replaced the removed AppleIntelHD*.kext drivers. Now all seems well with just setting IGPEnabled=No. Would be nice to have the Intel Graphics and Airplay, but that's what my laptop is for, I guess.
Going to beat...
Unfortunately, no... I can't shed any insight on BIOS and boot. I saw some references to disabling functions to get it to install, but most of the builds seem to agree that optimized defaults work for a running install.
I fixed that by deleting the kexts for the integrated graphics... They still won't play, but at least they don't hang the machine... Also fixed graphics glitches in Maps.
I had not. Thanks! Would be nice to find something more reliable than the IOGEAR's... Have used them in the past, and they don't last very long... The one I ordered for this build was DOA, but I've got one in another machine that will work in this one... May have to try a GMYLE and see. Honestly...
They're in /system/Library/Extensions
I run the "kext utility" from the other site out of habit from the old days...
Running
sudo touch /System/Library/Extensionsfrom terminal should do the trick now that we're all past 10.6...
Complete and utter freeze. No kernel panic. Everything stops. I had to disable in BIOS and delete the .kext files. Seems to be a complete cure, although something in VMWare Fusion is still able to fire up internal graphics and bring things to an occasional halt.
I have z87x and gtx 770... I had to actually delete the AppleIntelGraphics* .kext files as it was ignoring the disable setting in the BIOS and loading up the integrated graphics anyway. Only clue was the crashes occured when the GPU was loaded, and I had graphic glitches in Maps. The list of...
So here's the new development of the week... If VMWare Fusion is running, I've gotten two freezes (still with no kernel panic or log info). It appears to be video related, as one was upon scaling a YouTube video (not in the VM, but in the Host). The other was while the machine was idle and...
The iMac 14,2 has essentially the same chipset and CPU (as well as a very similar GPU). It seems like the way to go. I didn't see any performance improvement or increased utilization of processor speed steps.
So, interestingly, it turned out I had two issues. The SATA issue still seems to be present, but my over-arching stability issue was that the Integrated Video was being loaded by the OS even after I disabled it in BIOS. Deleting the kext files for IntelGraphics fixed it, and we've been stable...
