Just updated to Ventura 13.2. Even forgot to check Clover and kext updates because I still work with Catalina on separate drive. All seem to be working fine though.
UtterDisbelief thanks again lot for the guide Bro. I've used it before but somehow after having to switch from MacPro1,1 to iMac19,1 to run Ventura on my rig my USB ports were all messed up (non working USB 3.0 ports)
Re-did the guide and all is well again!
Yeah I created a new sheet (cloverconfigurator) with serials, uuid, etc… just to make sure.
I knew about signing out but don’t know if I cleared NVRAM. All is well though on both Catalina and Ventura.
Thanks for the heads-up mate!
Alright it seems iMacPro1,1 is the culprit. iMac19,1 works (tried at clover boot SMBIOS settings)
Is it ok to just change the Product Name from iMacPro1,1 to iMac19,1 in Clover or do I have to create a new one with new serials and all? Thanks!
SOLUTION: changing SMBIOS iMacPro1,1 to iMac19,1
Hi guys,
I thought updating Ventura was impossible using Clover because of Secureboot settings but I just noticed this post from a fellow member which states the update went fine...
I was also on Catalina and still use it as my main OS btw but installed Ventura on another SSD just to start with a clean slate (slowly moving stuff)
I noticed though Ventura is not showing the 13.0.1 update which is the first issue I have encountered. Well that and weird behaviour or even non...
Why didn't anyone mention booting via Preboot is the new way of booting MacOS???
I messed around with OpenCore because I thought this was not the way to boot.
Nothing but issues until I found out about Preboot being the new normal, for both Clover and OpenCore, even real Macs.
So then I...
Also, I have a Win 11 install ready because I can't keep rendering for 8 hours in MacOS what I can (probably) render in Windows for 8 minutes using an RTX card.
While win 11 is closer to a Mac experience compared to previous versions it still isn't as good, not by a mile but you guys already...
Hey guys, hope all is well.
I'm trying opencore again since the latest Photoshop and Lightroom are not compatible with Catalina anymore so need to upgrade.
I'm trying EdHawk's EFI again since it matches my rig and it's a recent Opencore version.
At first I had the blinking cursor issue again...
Hi EdHawk,
I'm trying your EFI since it matches my rig but only get a blinking cursor (black screen) even after flashing the BIOS since Z97 motherboards tend to go bananas mixing clover and opencore bootloaders.
Any idea what could be causing this?
I had a mindata error and bootstrap error...
Hey Edhawk, Im going to try Opencore again since the latest adobe photoshop and lightroom are not compatible with my Catalina install so an upgrade to big sur is required but Im going Monterey.
Since one of your rigs iMac 2: GA-Z97-D3H, i7-4790K, Powercolor RX580 8GB is close to my specs would...
Imagine how confused I am mate. I get thrown different EFI, try this that so I try to keep up.
Edhawk EFI gave blinking cursor but was 0.8.3 so more recent. I noticed it had a lot of dsdt patches that I used before with clover. I tried my system without them and it still ran ok so I went minimal...
And back to blinking cursor. The Mindate was removed from config so added it back.
So the other Opencore works better but it's a really old one. Not very wise use that one on my main boot drive me thinks.
