Very basic question - obtaining Mavericks

Go to the App Store and go to the Mavericks page and click download. It will say something along the lines of "you already purchased this item do you wish to download it again" and click yes

Have You Updated to OS X Mavericks Yet?

I'm waiting for a build of Mavericks that I can stay on for a while. I don't want to have to keep updating so I'm waiting a bit to upgrade.

How to buy (by downloading) full OS-X Mountain Lion without owning a Mac

You should be able to use the built in Intel HD graphics for your install of SL if I'm not mistaken.

    Choosing hardware

Everything looks good! Personally I would go with a single 8GB DIMM just to give you the ease of upgradability in the future.

    Is Hackintosh right for me?

A CustoMac behaves exactly like a real Mac if you do it right. I don't think I will ever buy a Mac desktop again and continue building Hackintoshes just because not only do I think it is fun to custom build a computer, but also it is $$$$ cheaper.

    Need help on video card

Nvidia cards normally provide better support. The 6xx cards worked natively. I assume the 7xx cards do as well.

Hackintosh or iMac or Mac Mini

Personally, I would continue to use a Hackintosh. Any mac mini or iMac that you can pick up cheap will feel woefully underpowered compared to your current machine. GTX 660 works natively so I don't see the problem there. If you really want to step up to a i7 that can give you a performance boost...

    Boot0: Error; 4K sector problem

Do a normal install with your unibeast drive. Boot into your install using the bootstick. Install all your drivers and kexts necessary in multibeast. Install Chimera 2.2.1. Restart. Boot into unibeast drive. Go into disk utility. Unmount your drive. Go into terminal. Make sure the drive you want...

First build need some help :)

I'm fairly certain that the 7xx cards should pose little problems for you. The 6xx still offer great performance for the price as well and they are natively supported as well. It's pretty much up to you. I'm sure if you went with a 7xx card and ran into a problem someone on this forum had a solution

Nvidia 550Ti Sleep / Wake / Freeze Thread

I never actually put the computer sleep. I just let the screen go black eventually. If I remember correctly sleep has never worked for me even on Lion.

This is all fine and good, but definitely not the case for everybody.

    i7 Maverick build

Definitely go with a smaller SSD like a Samsung 840 or EVO for boot and applications and get an HDD for all your files. It offers the best performance especially if you don't need to put files on the SSD for the performance boost

    Win 8.1 and Mavericks

Also, the type of graphics card you are having can pose issues for installation. If you are using a 6xx Nvidia Card you shouldn't have any issues. If you are using a 5xx Nvidia card, you might want GraphicsEnabler=Yes to solve some problems. If you are using an AMD card do a search on the forum...

    Win 8.1 and Mavericks

You can install Chimera if you want during the MultiBeast step (you don't have to download it separately, it should be under bootloaders) . It's just a different boot loader. I'm not sure, but I think the default one is chameleon, but I've always used Chimera. If you do, use 2.2.1

    Win 8.1 and Mavericks

You can search the forums for your particular board for installation tips. If I remember correctly that board is on the Mac Buyers Guide so its very compatible with OSX . As for installing on your separate SSD this is the best option for dual booting with Windows is having them separated. Just...
