    Mavericks: Native CPU/IGPU Power Management

Genzai: In my thinking XCPM is the latest and native way to implement CPU and GPU power management, and is available in Ivy Bridge, so why not use it. I'd never heard of it before this thread. Pike and toleda are the experts to ask about the benefits and I followed Pike's built-in switch in...

    Mavericks: Native CPU/IGPU Power Management

XCPM mode is now working, thanks to Pike. I needed to add the kernel flag -xcpm in org.chameleon.Boot.plist and to add -x 1 when running ssdtPRGen.sh to create ssdt.aml. I found out recently that the command ./ssdtPRGen.sh -h will produce a list of switches which may be added when creating an...

    Mavericks: Native CPU/IGPU Power Management

Console/Search: XCPM Code: kernel[0] XCPM: registered kernel[0] IOPPF: XCPM mode Toleda. I currently run 10.9.2, symbios Macmini6,2, with dsdt and ssdt with power management as instructed here. All CPU and GPU P-states are present in AICPUPMI, but only with IOPPF...

Post Your MultiBeast Config Files Here (.mb)

MacMini6,1: Asus P8Z77-M Pro - i5 3570K - Intel HD4000 - Mavericks 10.9.2 Multibeast 6.2.1 Added darkwake=8 to Kernel Flags for proper sleep/wake, also ssdt.aml into /Extra for speedstep. No dsdt.aml is used, as HDMI audio is not needed now. Install is on a 4K Advanced Format 2TB HD, so "Boot0...

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

mrengles: Is that using the P8Z77-M Pro board?

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

Thanks toleda. I can't believe I forgot to look for the hidden files, so I have reinstated the native AGPM kext with dsdt/iGPU. iGPU/AGPM max-value remains stuck at 0x10, and assume therefore still no GPU PM.

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

Having achieved IB CPU PM (confirmed working by toleda) but failed with GPU PM with 10.8.2 (12C3104), I now have a fresh 10.8.3 (12D78) install, which I think should soon be the default. With Macmini6,2 smbios, SSDT.aml again gives IB CPU PM, and with toleda's HDMI audio edits in DSDT.aml GFX0...

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

I also have 10.8.2 (12C3104) and what I thought was working IB CPU & GPU PM, with your help toleda (see Post #93). My MSRDumper outputs are comparable with yours and my IOReg looks the same as your pictures in #1. So can you tell me please how I can see if I am not achieving max AGPM HD4000...

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

I have noticed that some people are achieving great MSRDumper results without, it seems, enabling X86Platform (as set out in post #1). So is it necessary and what are the benefits of the X86 Platform? After my post #93 I tried the latest ssdtPRGen.sh version 3.2 and have good P-states booting...

    SSDT generation script (Ivybridge PM)

Yes, this worked for me too after enabling the X86 Platform (toleda ML:Native IB CPU & GPU Power Management) on my Asus P8Z77-M Pro with iGPU graphics. MSRDumper so far: 16 22 29 35 40 43 Thanks.

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

At last I have IB CPU & GPU Power Management working on my P8Z77-M Pro. X86Platform is enabled by ssdt as follows: Downloaded the latest version 2.5 of ssdtPRGen.sh from https://github.com/Piker-Alpha/RevoB...s/ssdtPRGen.sh, and edited in Textedit as set out in SSDT Generation Script (IB PM)...

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

I don't remember which supplemental update I applied but I am now on 12C3014. I too have thought I may have to wait for 10.8.3, but am now trying the latest ssdtPRGen.sh from PikeRAlpha to generate the ssdt. It reports that the CPU type is set incorrectly (0x0601 instead of 0x0604), but P-states...

No difference, still locked at x8.

For this I am using Chimera, With "Yes" to all the above.

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

The previous SSDT was created by the alternative process given in post #1, with plug-in injection in the dsdt, and generic ssdt created by MacIASL. Now this is replaced by the renamed i5 v1 ssdt with plug-in X86, shown as working in the IOReg, my dsdt being the one I had before starting this IB...

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

These were test tables used at different times, in a folder on the desktop. I didn't realise they would be loaded as well as the ssdt in /Extra. I have removed them from the desktop now, but am still stuck on x8. I have tried duplicating the bottom entry which should give x16, the bottom...

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

I have included a new IOReg with the no IB PM SSDT, both from today's tests, using DSDT injection of X86PlatformPlugin and AGPM. The P-state is still locked at x8 however. Macmini6,2 smbios is being used. Thanks.

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

I'm still locked at x8 with revised Name (APSN, 0x09). However, I have generated an SSDT using MacIASL Beta which does give me P-States 16,17,18,19,20,21,43 so far on MSRDumper, without X86PlatformPlugin and without IB native power management. I'll wait until 10.8.3 is released and try again...

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

Following your guide I have loaded X86PlatformPlugin.kext by using ssdt.aml-i5oc in /Extra as SSDT.aml, and DropSSDT=Yes in org.chameleon.Boot.plist. IB Graphics Power Management for HD4000 is also complete (editing with PlistEdit Pro) and SMbios edited to Macmini6,2. IOReg confirms (to me at...

    Mountain Lion on ASUS P8Z77-M Pro for Dummies, i7-3.5GHz, HD4000, Audio/DVI/HDMI (+Audio)/Sleep/Wake

mrengles, I have installed DSDT v2.0 from your post #44 above modified to audio LayoutID:3 and am delighted to say I have no sleep/wake issues (after a couple of days testing), no USB issues (USB 2 sticks work in USB 2 and 3 ports, USB external drive works fine in all USB 3 ports). I seem to...
