Superb work @kgp. Can you elaborate on section E.9 H regarding CPU cores? I'm not sure what this does and how I create the right patch for i9-7900X processor.
thanks!
That's part of it, but I've run single thread benchmark in Windows and only one core goes to max clock. All others idle. They should all be running the same speed if you set to enhanced multicore performance and disable energy savings. Additionally, the single core does not clock to the Turbo...
I didn't think about terminal so that may work. However, as noted, if the drive has a prior Apple formatted partition, yes Drive Manger works fine. However a brand new drive does not show up and Windows formatted drive and partition show up, but can't delete partitions or mount. Perhaps terminal...
The option is there in the F7I BIOS for Gaming 7, but it does not work as I tried in Windows. Other things related to CPU overclocking that don't work on this BIOS version (all confirmed in Windows 10):
Mesh multiplier - once you overclock this, it sticks to the new frequency 100% and does not...
Please add this warning to the general instructions:
I have confirmed on my MacBook Pro and my Hack. The drive that you want to install PB5 must be pre-formatted to Apple format. If you try to use an unformatted disk, it will not show as an available disk. If you try to use a recycled disk with...
Gigabyte should also be able to lock the cores. I had that enabled on my previous X99 Gigabyte system. You are correct in that the BIOS setting is there but it doesn't work because I can't even get it to work in Windows. I'm sure Gigabyte will correct it in another BIOS release. The voltage...
Thanks for sharing!
A couple notes after I finally got installation to work on my i9-7900x and Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7 and using PB5:
I had to use a blank drive that was already formatted to Mac extended journal. My fresh out of box SSD did not even show up in Disk Manager. Once formatted...
Just speculating that the new iMac pro will be x299 with i9 2066 pin processors. Since the top end config is 18 core, that is where the i9 tops out. I think Xeons go up to 24. If true, this is a good read on what upgrading your current system may look like...
Titan Xp works and installs just fine. All I had to do was install the card and done. I don't use HW Monitor so I didn't have to remove it. This should last for quite a while.
Hi All,
Thanks to all the dedicated folks in the community that make it possible to run x99 platforms on Sierra. I've had a stable running system with the i7-5820K for the last 2 years. I have also followed the Hackintosh mantra of "if it's not broke don't fix it". I am considering upgrading to...
Installed lilu and shiki latest builds and reset DRM on my X99 system on 10.12.4 and it works for downloaded videos but not for streaming. I believe devs said that shiki for streaming would not be possible for the foreseeable future.
Hi All,
I do want to upgrade to a 4K monitor, but not sure if the resolution is working without issue. I use Mac Pro 6,1 definition and will pair that with a 1080 Ti or Titan Xp. Are there any special kexts or concerns about 4K resolution?
A little bit of trouble this time. Here is what I did:
Backed up using SuperDuper
Updated Clover to latest
Installed 10.12.4 update
Update completed and reboot
System kept rebooting
After a couple reboots, I enabled verbose to try to trouble shoot
System booted up fine
Ran AGDPFix
Updated...
Thanks! I misunderstood what was meant by making this work. I thought that I could use Creative's control panel and features once I got audio working, but I see this is only for basic control through preferences. I am going to stick with my USB Creative Omni DAC that comes with full Creative...
thanks! I read the instructions on the AppleHDA page but not 100% sure how it works. Do I also need a custom SSDT or any changes to Clover config.plist?
