Video showing iBoot, MultiBeast, & OS X 10.6.3 Installed

The drives show up orange which means they are able to hot-swap. AFAIK, the drive will work completely normal this way. If you want to the drive to look normal, you can install a kext called IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext. It can be found in multibeast.

Sleep in Windows 7 and Ubuntu do not work.

According to my UD2 manual, the default setting is S3. I have not tried Ubuntu on this box, but Windows 7 slept just fine. In my experience, power management on linux has issues. Try checking ubuntuforums to see if that board has known issues with sleep. Also, what bios revision are you using?

    My UD2 i5 system $550

Have not tried 10.5 myself but I imagine it would work well. My quirks are mostly usb related. Top 2 ports do not allow resume from sleep, and I had my keyboard stop working once even though it was plugged into a "good" port.

Looking for guides on getting sleep to work.

Not waking from sleep via usb keyboard is usually due to using the top 2 usb ports at least on UD2. Be sure you are connecting the keyboard directly to the computer (not through a hub) and do not use the top 2. Also, try switching to a different port if you still have issues.

    P55A-UD4P Insallation Help

That makes more sense. It is my understanding that you can leave SATA Port 0-3 Native Mode Enabled. I left it enabled and had no major issues during install. Update: actually not sure on Native mode. In my case, UD2 defaults to disabled. In Tony's USB guide he shows Enabled, but a commenter...

    P55A-UD4P Insallation Help

You do not want to disable ACPI in the bios. It is necessary. 1. Optimized defaults 2. AHCI for both SATA chipsets 3. S3 for ACPI suspend mode (if you want sleep)

Looking for guides on getting sleep to work.

Hi ER800. You are very welcome. Not sure what your emoticon and lol indicated here. You said computer sleeps like a baby. Good. What I am curious is does it wake up like a baby crying in the middle of the night? ;) (does it resume from sleep when you hit a key, and computer behave normally?)

    Internet slows down on p55-UD2

I doubt this is due to a OS networking issue. What type of traffic is it that you are noticing a slow down on? It may be some sort of QOS issue or ISP packet resetting to interfere with bandwidth consumption. 1. t*****ts? 2. ISP? 3. Wireless or wired? 4. Type of router? As to why it does not...

Looking for guides on getting sleep to work.

2 ideas: Make sure you have S3 selected for ACPI suspend in your bios as shown in this guide: http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2009/11/ ... etail.html Remember optimized defaults, AHCI, S3 suspend mode. My other idea is more general troubleshooting tip. You seem to have your settings to sleep...

Share your favorite Mac OS X software

Those are great suggestions as well Tony. Cyberduck looks like it could be great. There is a site out there that helps discover software that people use and the can comment on it. http://iusethis.com It seems to be quite active, better organized than macupdate.com and not spammy and annoying...

Welcome to the new forums! From tonymacx86!

Want to chime in with thanks to tonymac for all his hard work and great guides. If I had not discovered his site I probably would have just bought one of those new overpriced imacs. I am rather new to the hackintosh scene but I like the attitude of helping I see here and in other forums. On a...

    Flashing BIOS on GA-P55M-UD2

I have the same RAM, board, cpu, the only difference is I have 9600gt. Not sure what would be causing your KPs. Have you read the output when the kernel does panic? Sometimes it can be helpful. Another thought would be disable your speedstep changes. I have not implemented speedstepping on my...

Looking for guides on getting sleep to work.

I agree with bradrel, there should be no issues with sleeping your machine. Data loss is almost impossible with sleep, unless the machine totally freezes instead of sleeping and requires hard reset. Even then your mac is using a journaled disk, which prevents this sort of data loss from...

    Flashing BIOS on GA-P55M-UD2

only 1.1 boards support F6 according to: http://www.gigabyte.us/Support/Motherbo ... uctID=3299 I would think it would not let you flash though. Perhaps it means that only Support EuP Lot 6 function is supported on 1.1.
