Uptime at 35 Days and Counting!

Yes, it is OSX Server, 10.4.11 Server. I run Apache (but my ISP blocks port 80, and I need to get it to use 81), file backups, file sharing, VNC, and Quicktime Server, for streaming. Tom

    OSX 10.7 'Lion' Oct 20th

    Forum Look and Feel changes

Ditto from here! I love how the site is becoming more functional, like a Star Trek/Lion era computer, rather than a folder-based system. Thanks! Tom

Using Pico BTX/Nano BTX cases for mini-itx motherboards...

I would use Tiger Direct to find a good case, and then Google it to find the model elsewhere for cheaper.

    12 Core Hackintosh

Wow, you can read that? Ok, well, perhaps it is not a 12 pysical core computer, but the way to do that would be to get an Intel Server Board, for Dual Xeons, and spend lots of money to get two of the Xeon processors with 6 cores each. Tom

Hiding Windows 7 Drives in OS X

The problem is that the existence of whitespace inside your drive name confuses the mv command, try the following command instead: mv "/Volumes/NAME_OF_MY_WINDOWS_HD" "/Volumes/.NAME_OF_MY_WINDOWS_HD" The quotes being where they are will make sure that the name of your drive is seen as only...

My Core i5 build in the making

For the hard drive, you really can't get much better than the Spinpoint F3 line (500 GB or 1 TB) for price/(performance and capacity), as you have seen if you look around this forum. Tom
